Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and a method for constructing/browsing geographic information using image information are provided to construct the geographic information of a digital map, and offer an interactive searching/browsing service by collecting a stereo image from a camera installed to a car, and calculating 3D(3 Dimensional) coordinates of a geographic object from position/pose information of the camera. CONSTITUTION: An image collector(10) collects the stereo image by the camera installed to the car and the position/pose information of the camera. A database(20) stores the stereo image and the position/pose information of the camera when the stereo image is collected, and stores the 3D coordinates of the geographic object expressed on the stereo image as the digital map. A geographic information constructing/browsing server(30) stores the geographic information constructed by calculating the 3D coordinates for the geographic object from the stereo image and the position/pose information of the camera in the database as the digital map, and offers the interactive searching/browsing service for the stereo image and the digital map.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A video geographic information system is provided to promptly output a selected, queried, or analyzed result of a user to a video image in various forms such as a graphic, a text, and an image while the user views a video stream on a network environment. CONSTITUTION: A video server(10) loads and transmits the video stream to the outside. A Geo server(20) searches the geographic information after loading the camera information if the screen information and the video frame information are inputted, and outputs the processed geographic information to the outside through the network after processing a query and an analysis requested from the user. A video player(30) outputs the video stream, and outputs the screen information and the video frame information when the user requests the selection, the query, and the analysis for an output video image. A Geo player(40) outputs the geographic information processed by a request from the user together with the video image output from the Geo player by transmitting the processed geographic information to the video player after transmitting the screen information and the video frame information to the Geo server.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A large-sized vector type geographic information system and method is provided to enable a user to make an SQL(Structured Query Language) query, to perform a spatial operation, and to generate dynamically a desired map. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a web client(110), a main web server(120), a database agent(130) and geographic information servers(141-141n). The web client(110) includes a JAVA applet program executable over a web browser. The web client(110) accesses the main web server(120), then accesses a desired one among the geographic information servers(141-141n) with a help of the database agent(110) and downloads the JAVA applet program from the accessed geographic information server. The database agent(130) manages the geographic information servers(141-141n) accessible by the main web server(120), and sets a connection between the web client(110) and the geographical information servers(141-141n) for enabling the web client to obtain geographic information on a desired area. The main web server(120) checks which area the web client wants to receive. The geographical information servers(141-141n) offer vector based geographic information to the web client(110).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for sorting the position information of mobile objects in a position information processing system is provided to reduce the amount of the position information of mobile objects and to swiftly generate and transmit necessary information for drivers by extracting position information essential for the automatic trace of a mobile object's position.
