시공간 기울기 정보를 이용하여 동영상을 배경 영역과 시각적으로 의미를 갖는 객체들로 분할하고자 함.
3. 발명의 해결방법의 요지
연속되는 적어도 두개 이상의 영상 프레임을 각각 양자화하여 단순화시키는 단계; 양자화와 단순화된 각각의 영상 프레임으로부터 시공간 기울기 정보를 구하는 단계; 시공간 기울기 정보로부터 분수령을 검출하고, 분수령과 분수령 사이의 경계를 구하여 영역을 분할하는 단계; 그래프 이론을 이용하여 크기가 작은 영역들을 이웃의 영역들과 병합하여 분할된 영역의 갯수를 줄이는 단계; 및 병합된 영역들의 움직임 정보를 이용하여 영역들을 움직임이 없는 배경 객체와 움직임이 있는 객체들로 나누는 단계를 포함함.
