Abstract: Thermoplastic molding compositions comprising, based on the components A) to F), A) from 5 to 70% by weight of at least one graft copolymer A) made from an elastomeric graft base with a glass transition temperature below 0° C., and a graft made from a styrene compound, and acryonitrile or methacrylonitrile or a mixture of these and, where appropriate, further monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, B) from 29 to 90% by weight of a hard copolymer made from at least one styrene compound, acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile or a mixture of these and, where appropriate, further monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, C) from 0 to 5% by weight of at least one three-block copolymer X-Y-X having a central block Y made from propylene oxide units and having terminal blocks X made from ethylene oxide units, D) from 0.01 to 5% by weight of at least one butylated reaction product of p-cresol with dicyclopentadiene, E) from 0.01 to 5% by weight of at least one thiocarboxylic ester, F) from 0.01 to 5% by weight of at least one alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt of a C6-C20 carboxylic acid, and G) from 0 to 30% by weight, based on components A) to G), of other conventional additives,where the weathered db* value of the molding compositions is below +5.0 after 100 hours of exposure to light and weathering to ISO 4892/2, method A, black-panel temperature 65° C., using the CIE-Lab color system, to DIN 6174 and DIN 5033.

Abstract: The invention relates to the essentially salt-free coagulation of plastic or rubber dispersions using shearing forces. A device with at least one shearin g element (3) is used to this end. Said device has a stator (7) and a rotor (9 ) which is arranged inside said stator, the surfaces of the stator and the rot or that point towards each other each being flat. Alternatively, at least the rotor has a structure which is configured on its surface and which points in the direction of the stator from said surface. A gap (11) with a predetermin ed gap width is configured between the stator and the rotor. The method is carried out in such a way that the dispersion to be coagulated is guided through the gap (11) between the stator (7) and the rotor (9) and precipitat ed through the rotation of the rotor at a predetermined shear speed and with a predetermined shear deformation.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la preparacion de materiales termoplásticos modificados para tener una resistencia incrementada a los impactos mediante la mezcla de un componente elastomérico A humedo que contiene hasta 60% en peso de agua residual con un polímero termoplástico B así como polímero adicionales C y aditivos D en una máquina de tornillo sinfin bajo condicion de remocion mecánica de agua del componente elastomérico A, caracterizado porque los componentes A, B, C y D se alimentan a una extrusora de tornillos sinfin gemelos que giran en el mismo sentido, conformada en la direccion de alimentacion esencialmente de: cuando menos una seccion de dosificacion en la cual, por medio de un dispositivo de dosificacion, se alimenta a la extrusora y el componente elastomérico A; cuando menos una seccion de extraccion que sirve para la remocion de agua del componente A, que contiene cuando menos un elemento de retencion, así como cuando menos una abertura de remocion de agua correspondiente; cuando menos una seccion en la cual se alimenta el polímero termoplástico B a la extrusora en forma de fusion; cuando menos una seccion equipada con un elemento de mezclado, malaxacion y/u otros elementos de plastificacion; cuando menos una seccion de desgasificacion equipada con cuando menos un orificio de desgasificacion, en la cual el agua residual se elimina en forma de vapor; y una zona de salida porque el agua que sale por los orificios de remocion de agua se encuentra total o parcialmente en fase líquida, y porque los componentes C y/o D, junto o separadamente entre ellos con el componente A y/o con el componente B junto o separadamente de A y B se alimentan en una o varias de las secciones de la extrusora.

Abstract: A process for the continuous coagulation of aqueous dispersions of graft rubbers suitable for toughening thermoplastics is described. In the process, dispersions are transported through an apparatus having at least one shear element with a slotted stator and a rotating of the rotor within the stator, so that said dispersions are passed radially from the inside to the outside as a result of the rotation of the rotor in the shear element and, during or after passage through the slots of the rotor and stator, are subjected to such strong shearing that they coagulate, resulting in graft rubber coagulums which can be readily worked up even at a solids content of more than 50% by weight of elastomers.

Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition having little intrinsic color is produced from a graft copolymer and a thermoplastic polymer. The graft copolymer is produced from a soft elastomeric particulate graft base obtained by polymerization of a conjugated diene alone or with a small amount of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, upon which is grafted a vinylaromatic monomer and acrylonitrile and optionally another monoethylenically unsaturated monomer. The thermoplastic polymer is a copolymer of a vinylaromatic monomer and acrylonitrile and optionally an additional monoethylenically unsaturated monomer. The thermoplastic molding composition has a low level of intrinsic color coupled with good mechanical properties and can be processed by, for example, extrusion, injection molding, calendaring, blow molding, compression molding, or sintering.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing odorant polymers or plastics , wherein a crushed or fine particle first polymer material is mixed with the desired odorant, is allowed to swell during a predetermined period and then subjected to further treatment at a predetermined pressure and temperature. After swelling with the odorant, the first polymer material can be mixed wit h a second plastic material, wherein the first polymer material and the second plastic material can be identical or different from each. Odorant polymers c an also be obtained by using a polymer as second plastic material. The inventio n also relates to the odorant polymer or the odorant plastic produced accordin g to the inventive method and to a molding material or an object containing th e odorant polymer or the odorant plastic.
