Abstract: Agentes de revestimiento que contienen pigmentos, que contienen: i) al menos un polímero P, en forma de una dispersión acuosa de polímeros que presenta grupos fosfonato, como agente aglutinante, ii) al menos un pigmento inorgánico, iii)en caso dado una o varias cargas inorgánicas, y iv) agentes auxiliares habituales, donde el polímero P es obtenible mediante polimerización en emulsión acuosa a través de radicales de monómeros con insaturación etilénica, que comprenden - un 90 a un 99, 9 % en peso de al menos un monómero a, seleccionado entre monómeros aromáticos vinílicos, los ésteres de ácido acrílico con alcanoles con 1 a 12 átomos de carbono, los ésteres de ácido metacrílico con alcanoles con 1 a 12 átomos de carbono, los ésteres vinílicos de ácidos monocarboxílicos alifáticos con 1 a 12 átomos de carbono, etileno y cloruro de vinilo, y - un 0, 1 a un 10 % en peso de al menos un monómero b, diferente del mismo, de la **fórmula** o una sal del mismo, donde R1 representa hidrógeno, alquilocon 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, COOH, -CO2-alk-OH o ¿CO2-Alk-P(O) (OH)2 y R2 representa hidrógeno, alquilo, -CH2-CO2H, -CH2-CO2- Alk-OH o CH2-CO2-Alk-P(O) (OH)2, donde Alk significa alquileno con 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, X significa un enlace sencillo, alquileno, arileno, - R3-Z-O-R4- o ¿R3-Z-NH-R4-, donde R3 está unido a un átomo de carbono del doble enlace, y representa un enlace sencillo, alquileno o arileno, R4 significa alquileno o arileno, y Z representa CO o SO2.

An aqueous, pigment-containing coating material with a pigment volume concentration of at least 10 and essentially free fro volatile organic compounds (VOC), containing (i) aqueous polymer dispersion(s) which are film-forming at room temperature, containing polymer(s) (P) derived from (A) 80-99.95 wt% (meth)acrylate esters of 2-20C alkanols or 5-10C cycloalkanols, (B) 0.05 wt% unsaturated carboxylic, sulfonic or phosphonic acid(s) and/or their salts and (C) 0-20 wt% monomers other than (A) and (B), inorganic pigment(s) and optionally inorganic or organic fillers, (iii) non-polymerizable photoinitiator(s) in amounts of betwee 0.05 and less than 0.3 wt% based on (P) and (iv) water and conventional auxiliary substances. An Independent claim is also inclu for a process for coating substrates by applying the above coating material to the substrate.
