SOLUTION: A method for producing a polymer aqueous dispersion is provided. The polymer aqueous dispersion comprises an emulsion polymer, a polymer composed of at least 5 mass% of an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid anhydride (abbreviated to an acid polymer SP) and an alkoxysilane represented by the formula SiR R R R [wherein, groups R to R denote each mutually independently an organic group and at least one of the groups denotes an alkoxy group]. The method for production is characterized by producing the emulsion polymer in the presence of at least a small amount of the alkoxysilane by an emulsion polymerization.

The invention relates to the use, in cosmetic compositions, of copolymers that can be obtained by copolymerizing at least one ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride derived from at least one dicarboxylic acid with 4 to 8 C atoms and at least one oligomer of branched or unbranched C 3 -C 10 alkene. At least one oligomer has a mean molecular weight M n ranging from 300 to 5000 g/mol, preferably up to 1200 g/mol or can be obtained by oligomerizing at least three equivalent C 3 -C 10 alkenes.

Thermally curable binding agents based on an aqueous polymer dispersion, containing an emulsion polymer (EP), a polymer which consists of at least 5 wt. % ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid anhydride (acid polymer SP) and monofunctional or multifunctional epoxy compounds as curing agents. The monofunctional or multifunctional epoxy compound is, preferably, introduced into the aqueous polymer dispersion in a liquid state. The thermally curable binding agent can contain a polymol or an alkanolamine, in addition to the epoxy compound, as curing agents.
