    Abstract: A multilayer composite comprising at least the following layers:I. a layer I of a polyamide molding composition andII. a layer II of a polyester molding composition, where the layers are firmly bonded to each other without use of an additional layer of bonding agent, wherein the polyester molding composition comprises a mixture of:a) from 80-99% by weight of a polyalkylene 2,6-naphthalate selected from the group consisting of polyethylene 2,6-naphthalate and polybutylene 2,6-naphthalate, andb) from 1-20% by weight of one or more compounds containing at least two isocyanate groups, wherein, in addition, the isocyanate groups from component IIb are present in layer II in a concentration of from 0.03-3% by weight.

    Abstract: The joint system to bond a tube to another assembly, such as to connect a fuel line to a tank, is of two materials with different swelling characteristics. The material with the stronger swelling behaviour has a projecting lip round the joint, which is wholly covered by the material with a lower swelling action, giving a shaped lock fit between them. The material with stronger swelling is a thermoplastic such as polyethylene or an elastomer, and the other material is a thermoplastic or metal. Also claimed is a mfg. process using a twin-component or two-stage injection moulding.

    Abstract: Polyamide molding composition containing an impact modifier and a functionalized olefin-acrylic polymer comprises a polyamide having an excess of terminal amino groups over terminal carboxy groups. Molding composition comprises: (A) 60-96.5 wt.% of a polyamide having an excess of terminal amino groups over terminal carboxy groups; (B) 3-39.5 wt.% of an anhydride-functional impact modifier selected from ethylene/ alpha -olefin copolymers and styrene-ethylenebutylene-styrene block copolymers; and (C) 0.5-20 wt.% of a copolymer comprising: (a) 20-94.5 wt.% 2-12C alpha -olefin units; (b) 5-79.5 wt.% (meth)acrylic acid, (meth)acrylate salt, 1-12C alcohol (meth)acrylate, (meth)acrylonitrile and/or (meth)acrylamide units; and (c) 0.5-50 wt.% olefinically unsaturated epoxide, carboxylic anhydride, carboximide, oxazoline or oxazinone units.

    Abstract: A good layer adhesion can be achieved in a composite having two or more layers whereina layer I is obtained from a molding composition which has the following components:a) from 0 to 80 parts by weight of a polyamide selected from the group consisting of PA6, PA66, PA6/66 and a mixture thereof;b) from 0.05 to 100 parts by weight of a polyamine-polyamide copolymer; andc) from 0 to 80 parts by weight of a polyamide selected from the group consisting of PA11, PA12, PA612, PA1012, PA1212 and a mixture thereof;wherein a total of the parts by weight of components a), b) and c) is 100;wherein at least 20 parts by weight of components a) and b) is a monomer unit which is obtained from caprolactam and/or from a combination of hexamethylenediamine/adipic acid; andwherein at least 20 parts by weight of components b) and c) is a monomer unit which is obtained from omega-aminoundecanoic acid, laurolactam, a mixture of hexamethylenediamine and 1,12-dodecanedioic acid, a mixture of 1,10-decanediamine and 1,12-dodecanedioic acid, and/or a mixture of 1,12-dodecanediamine and 1,12-dodecanedioic acid.
