Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program or the like which permits appropriate selection of a screen saver. SOLUTION: The program is used for making an information processor select the screen saver for displaying a predetermined image on a display device when no input is performed by a user for a predetermined period, and makes the information processor function as: a power source state detecting section 100 which detects the power source state indicating which of an AC power source and a battery is driving the information processor; and a screen saver selection section 150 which selects the screen saver to be operated on the information processor among a plurality of the screen savers in accordance with the state of the power source. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily stop the supply of a clock and power to a VRAM without the need of storing the contents of the VRAM and performing recovery based on stored data. SOLUTION: This information processor is provided with power saving means 21-24 for shifting a memory for display to a power saving state where image data are to be lost and restoring it, a storage area 25 for storing a prescribed starting condition, a routine starting means for starting a prescribed routine when the starting condition is satisfied, routine ending means 21 and 22 for ending the routine, and a re-plotting means for performing re-plotting to the memory for display when the routine is ended. Then, the information processor is provided with a starting condition rewrite means 26 for rewriting the starting condition stored in the storage area so as to start the routine at the time of shifting to the power saving state or at the time of restoration from the state, and a start condition restoration means 26 for returning the rewritten starting condition to the original condition after the routine is started. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior information processing system which can drop or stop the operation frequency of CPU at appropriate timing even while asynchronous communication is executed with a peripheral equipment. SOLUTION: This system includes a CPU 11 which can be operated at a regular mode and a power saving mode whose power consumption is lower than the regular mode, one or more peripheral equipments 17, 23, buses 12, 16 and 22 for making communication between the peripheral equipments 17, 23 and CPU 11, a bus cycle detection means for monitoring a bus cycle on the buses, a state judgment means for deciding the operation mode of the CPU 11 in a specified bus cycle detected by the bus cycle detection means and a signal generation means for transmitting a control signal for switching the operation mode based on a judgment result by the state judgment means to the CPU 11.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an information processor to be transitted to power saving operation by an optimum timer value while maintaining balance between usability and power management and a control method for the processor. CONSTITUTION: The information processor is transitted to a power saving mode after the lapse of time set up by a power saving timer from a final user input (or final processing operation), and when a succeeding user input (or a task restart request) is generated at a comparatively early period from the start of the power saving mode, the succeeding power saving timer is reset to a comparatively long period because a user may feel the reduction of operability due to the too short power saving timer. When time from the start of the power saving mode up to the succeeding user input is long, transition to the power saving mode is matched with a user's will, but a power saving effect can be improved by faster transi-tion so that the succeeding power saving timer is reset to a shorter time, thereby transitting the processor to power saving operation by an optimum timer value without being uninten-tionally interrupted.
