Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a rigid polyurethane foam which can exhibit excellent foam properties such as mechanical properties and dimensional stability without heightening the density of the foam though water is used as the blowing agent. SOLUTION: There is provided a process for producing a rigid polyurethane foam by mixing under agitation a polyol mixture containing a polyol, a foam stabilizer, at least 2.5 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. polyol, blowing agent being water, and a catalyst, wherein the polyol mixture further contains a polyoxyethylenealkylamine represented by the formula (wherein R is a 1-18C alkyl or an alkenyl, and (m) and (n) are each the average number of moles of the units, provided that m+n=1-100).

SOLUTION: In a process for producing a polyurethane foam by reacting a polyesterpolyol prepared by polycondensing an acid component containing terephthalic acid and adipic acid in a molar terepnthalic acid to adipic acid ratio of 0.005-0.3 with a polyhydric alcohol with a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component, the polyol component contains the polyesterpolyol. In a process for producing a polyurethane foam reacting an isocyanate prepolymer comprising a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component, the polyol component used to prepare the isocyanate prepolymer contains the polyesterpolyol.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the binder compsn. for production of a casting mold having an excellent collapsing property. CONSTITUTION:The binder compsn. contains a binder consisting of a furan resin and a decay accelerator, such as butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, butyl stearate, butyl benzoate, dibutyl sebacate, dibutyl maleate, dimethyl succinate, dimethyl adipate, dimethyl azelate or dimethyl dodecanate. The binder compsn. preferably contains the binder which can be cured by a hardener consisting of the salt of a strong acid and weak base and the decay accelerator in the case of production of the thermal curing casting mold. The casting mold is obtd. by kneading the binder compsn. and the various hardeners with refractory granular aggregate and curing the binder by a desired method.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the collapsing property of a casting mold obtd. by a shell mold method. CONSTITUTION:This resin coated sand is formed by coating the surfaces of refractory granular aggregate with a binder compsn. The binder compsn. contains the phenolic resin and the decay accelerator which is expressed by general formula R1COOR2 [where R1 denotes 1 to 20C alkyl group, 2 to 20C alkenyl group, 6 to 20C aryl group or 7 to 20C alalkyl group; R2 denotes 1 to 4C alkyl group] or general formula R1(COOR1) [where R2 denotes 1 to 4C alkyl group; R3 denotes 1 to 20C alkylene group, 2 to 20C alkenylene group, 6 to 20C phenylene group or 7 to 20C alkylene group]. The casting mold by the shell mold method is obtd. if the resin coated sand is packed into a pattern and is cured by heating.

The above- mentioned binder compsn. consists of at least one kind selected from specific groups or at least one kind of the copolymers thereof and at least one kind among a furan resin, phenol resin, urea resin, and melamine resin.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly produce a polyurethane foam at low temperatures by reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a catalyst containing a compound having a tert-amino group and an NCO- reactive OH group and a compound having prim-amino groups, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer. SOLUTION: Preferably, the compound having a tert-amino group and an NCO-reactive OH group is 6-dimethylamino-1-hexanol. Preferably, the compound having prim-amino groups is a compound of the formula: H2N-(CH2)n-A-(CH2)n- NH2 and/or a compound selected from among 1,3-diaminopropane, hexamethylenediamine, etc. In the formula, A is a single bond -NR1-, -NR2-(CH2)x-B-(CH2)y-NR3-, -O(CH2CH2O)k-, or an N,N'-disubstituted piperazine ring; B is a single bond or -NR4-; R1 to R4 are each H or 1-4C alkyl; x and y are each 1-6; k is 0-30; and m and n are each x.
