Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as musk perfumes of high quailty in a short time in high yield, by depolymerization and ring closure of a polyester prepared through polycondensation of a dibasic fatty acid and ethylene glycol in the presence of a catalyst of an Al compound having a carbonate radical. CONSTITUTION:CO2 or a substance to generate carbon dioxide, e.g. NaHCO3, is brought into contact with a basic aqueous solution of an Al compound, e.g. Al(OH)3 or aluminum acetate, to give an Al compound having a carbonate radical. A polyester obtained by polycondensation of a dibasic fatty acid of formula I: (n is an integer 6-14) or its ester and ethylene glycol or oxide is subjected to depolymerization and ring closure at a reduced pressure of 10 -1mmHg at 180- 280 deg.c to give a large ring ethylenedioate of furmula II.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing ethylbenzene in a good yield by the dehydrogenation of a vinylcylcohexene compound. CONSTITUTION:A vinylcylcohexene compound is catalytically reacted in the pressure of a magnesia-containing compound produced by carrying an alkali metal and subsequently treated with oxygen, preferably magnesia, hydrotalcite or its analogous compound, as a catalyst in a solvent-free state at 20-200 deg.C, preferably 40-150 deg.C, to produce ethylbenzene. The amount of the carried alkali metal is preferably 1-15wt.% especially 3-10wt.%, based on the weight of the carrier, and the oxygen treatment is performed by the contact of a mixed gas diluted with an inert gas and having an oxygen concentration of 5-30vol.%, preferably 5-10vol.%, at 25-200 deg.C, preferably 50-150 deg.C. The catalyst is used in an amount of 0.001-1atom, preferably 0.005-0.1atom, as the alkali atom per mole of the raw material.

CONSTITUTION:An adhesive material layer made of fluorine-contg. poly-(meth) acrylate is formed on one side of a transparent thin film of fatty acid ester of cellulose. The poly(meth)acrylate is a copolymer of 20-80mol% monomer (A) represented by a formula CH2=C(R )-COOR (where R is H or methyl and R is straight chain fluoroalkyl) with 80-20mol% monomer (B) represented by a formula CH2=C(R )-COOR (where R is H or methyl and R is branched fluoroalkyl) and has 0.10-0.35dl/g intrinsic viscosity (eta) measured in m-xylene hexafluoride at 60 deg.C. The objective adhesive pellicle film for exposure with light having such short wavelength as 360-450nm is obtd.

The compounds of formula I can be obtained by reacting an oxygen-containing thioacetal compound of formula II [R is -(R )n-OM (M is H or alkalli metal)] with an acid halide of formula X-COR (X is halogen) in an aprotic organic solvent (e.g. diisopropyl ether) at -20-30 deg.C. 2-Hydroxymethyl-1,3-dithiolane is exemplified as the compound of formula II and acryloyl chloride is exemplified as the acid chloride.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make improvement in tacky adhesiveness and ray transmittance by using a fluorine-contained poly(meth)acrylate having a specific compsn. and specific ultimate viscosity as a tacky adhesive material. CONSTITUTION:The pellicle 1 consisting of the pellicle film 3 and a pellicle frame 2 is constituted of a copolymer of a monomer [A] selected from a group consisting of formula I and a monomer [B] selected from a group consisting of formula II. The tacky adhesive material layer 5 consisting of the fluorine- contained poly(meth)acrylate having 45 to 75mol% content ratio of the monomer [A] and 55 to 25mol% content ratio of the monomer [B] and 0.07 to 0.2dl/g ultimate viscosity [eta] measured in methaxylene fluoride of 60 deg.C is formed on one surface of a transparent thin film 4, by which the tacky adhesive pellicle film 3 is formed. In the formulas I, II, R , R denote an H atom or methyl group; R denotes a straight chain fluoroalkyl group without contg. ether oxygen; R denotes a straight chain fluoroalkyl group contg. ether oxygen or branched fluoroalkyl group which may contain the ether oxygen. The improved tacky adhesiveness and ray transmittance are obtd. in this way.

Abstract: PURPOSE:Polyester from dibasic acid and alkylene glycol is subjected to depolymerization and cyclization under reduced pressure in the presence of a specific additive to reduce the viscosity of the reaction mixture, smoothen the reaction progress and give title compound in a short time in high yield. CONSTITUTION:The depolymerization and cyclization of polyester of formula I (n is 6-14; m is 2-8), resulting from polycondensation reaction between dibasic acid such as suberic acid and alkylene glycol such as ethylene glycol, is effected under reduced pressure, wherein at least one selected from polyoxyalkylene glycol, polyoxyalkylene glycol ester, monobasic acid, monobasic acid ester, monobasic anhydride, monohydric alcohol and monohydric alcohol ester is added to the reaction mixture to form the macrocyclic ester of formula II. EFFECT:The products are free from trace amounts of impurities. USE:Musk perfume.
