    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the fogging of the image obtd. by copying and to obtain the sharp yellow color image by incorporating the anthraquinone dye expressed by the general formula I into the binder resin of the yellow dye color toner compsn. for electrostatic charge development. CONSTITUTION:This compsn. contains the anthraquinone dye expressed by the general formula I into the binder resin of the yellow color toner. In this formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, alkoxy alkyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group or alkylcarboxy group. The dye of the excellent melt miscibility of the toner compsn. is provided and the copying is executed by the developer consisting of such compsn., by which the sharp yellow color image having no fogging is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a sublimating transfer amount of a dye controllable to facilitate a gradation recording by using a specific anthraquinone cyan dye, and changing an energy to bed applied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer. CONSTITUTION:As a cyan sublimating transfer recording dye, a compound shown by a general formula (I) is used. In this construction, all requirements, such as heat resistance, light resistance, sublimating speed, hue, and ribbon stability, can be met. But, in the formula, R1 represents either straight-chain or branched lower alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, and alkoxyalkyl group; and R2, R3, R4 represent hydrogen atom, either straight-chain or branched lower alkyl group, alkoxy group, and alkenyl group with the exception that all of them are the same, any of them is a hydrogen atom and the other two are the same, or two of them are hydrogen atoms.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain excellent heat resistance, light resistance, sublimation rate, hue and ribbon stability, by using a specified anthraquinone coloring matter for sublimation transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:In producing a thermal transfer recording ink by mixing a coloring matter with an appropriate resin, an appropriate solvent or the like, an anthraquinone coloring matter for sublimation transfer recording of formula I is used as the coloring matter. In the formula, R is a straight chain or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkoxyalkyl, the two Rs being identical. The anthraquinone coloring matter is capable of being controlled in the quantity thereof transferred through sublimation by regulating the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer, so that the coloring matter enables easy tone recording, and is suitable for full-color recording.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a recording superior in preservation characteristic and enhanced in color depth, by using a specific compound as a Cyan dye for sublimation transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:An anthraquinone dye for sublimation transfer recording is shown by a formula (I). In the formula, X represents -CSO- or -COS-, R represents lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or aralkyl, which can be either straight-chain or branched. The dye shown by the formula (I) can be easily produced by using the following two methods before reduction: 1-amino-4- nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid as a material is caused to directly react with a mercaptan through an acid chloride, or alternatively to react with an alcohol, a phenol, etc., to be turned into an ester once, and then an oxygen atom in the ester is substituted with a sulfur atom by a hydrogen sulfide. A thermal transfer recording ink is produced using the dye by mixing the dye with appropriate resin, solvent, etc. As a heat transfer method, the obtained ink is applied to an appropriate base to produce a transfer sheet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain cyan pigment having excellent light fastness, high maintenance stability and satisfactory sublimation transfer by using an anthraquinone pigment for specific thermal sublimation transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:Maintenance stability, i.e. transfer of records to another recording paper is prevented by the effect of two, i.e. the first and second amino groups of anthraquinone, and subsequently, light fastness and rigidness are improved. When R of a formula (I) is represented by the cycloalkyl group, the transfer energy is low and therefore, retransfer of records seldom occurs. The synthesis of a pigment shown by the formula (I) is obtained by esterizing and then performing the reduction of 1-amino-4-nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid. To manufacture thermal transfer recording ink, pigments are mixed with any appropriate resin solvent, water, etc. In addition, as a thermal transfer technique, the ink thus obtained is applied on a base to prepare a transfer sheet, which is in turn, overlapped with a material to be recorded. After this, the sheet is heated by a thermal recording head and pressed from the reverse side, so that the pigment on the sheet is transferred to the material to be recorded.

CONSTITUTION:A magenta color thermal transfer recording ink is produced by using an anthraquinone coloring matter of formula I, wherein X is a halogen. A resin for use in preparing the ink may be a resin for an oil base system, such as a resin based on or derived from rosin, phenol, xylene, petroleum, a polysulfone, vinyl, a polyamide, an alkyd, nitrocellulose, an alkyl cellulose or the like, or a resin for a water base system, such as a maleic acid resin, an acylic acid resin, casein, shellac and glue.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the titled substance useful as a vat dye, in high yield and quality, by condensing 1-aminoanthraquinone in the presence of 1,3-dimethyl-2- imidazolidinone using an oxidizing agent and an alkaline condensation agent. CONSTITUTION:1-Aminoanthraquinone is condensed in the presence of an oxidizing agent (e.g. air, oxygen, etc.) using 0.2-2.5 times weight, based on the raw material, of an alkaline condensation agent (preferably KOH) to obtain the titled substance. The reaction is carried out in the presence of 1.0-3.0 times weight, based on the raw material, of 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidine, at 80-150 deg.C. Since 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone is stable under alkaline condition, it can be recovered by distillation under atmospheric or reduced pressure or by solvent extraction.
