CONSTITUTION:The objective printing screen gauze is produced by forming a screen gauze with a core-sheath conjugate monofilament having a strength of >=5.5g/d and consisting of a sheath component composed of a polyester component having high rate of dissolution in an alkaline solvent and a core component composed of a polyester component having a dissolution rate smaller than that of the sheath component and thinning the obtained gauze with an alkaline solvent. A high-mesh screen gauze maintaining an opening area in high precision and having high ink-permeability can be produced by this process.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title monofilament having specific physical properties, excellent in mechanical strength and stress relaxation characteristics etc., also causing no scumming during the weaving process, made up of polyethylene terephthalate as sheath component and polyethylene naphthalate as core component. CONSTITUTION:The objective monofilament >=160g/d in elastic modulus and >=5000sec in stress relaxation time, made up of (A) as sheath component, polyethylene terephthalate or a modified polyester predominant in polyethylene terephthalate and (B) as core component, polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate. For the stress relaxation time to be attained at >=5000sec., it is recommended that the monofilament tension be set at >=0.4g/d in the cold stretching treatment after hot drawing; for this purpose, the cold stretch ratio is recommended to set at >=1.01.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the staining of the surface of a spinneret and the abrasion of the end of the spinneret due to the continuous melt-spinning of the polymer, reduce the frequency of cleaning works and stably melt-spin a thermoplastic polymer for a long period of time by employing an amorphous chromium-plated spinneret as the spinneret. CONSTITUTION:When a thermoplastic polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate prepared from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol in the presence of antimony trioxide as a catalyst is continuously melt-spun, a spinneret whose surface is plated with amorphous chromium and which is subsequently subjected to a thermal treatment at 400 deg.C for 2hr is employed, and the surface of the spinneret is coated with a silicone mold-releasing agent consisting mainly of dimethyl silicone, thereby permitting to prevent the staining of the surface of the spinneret and the abrasion of the end of the spinneret and to stably produce high quality fibers over a long period of time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the fault of a product and to mold a sheetlike article having uniform thickness by using a cap whose surface is plated with amorphous chromium when a thermoplastic polymer is formed into a sheet shape by melt extrusion. CONSTITUTION:When a thermoplastic polymer capable of being formed into a sheet in general by melt molding such as polyester, polyamide or polyolefin is extruded in a sheet shape by melt extrusion using a slitlike cap such as a T-die or an L-die, the cap whose surface is plated with amorphous chromium is used. The thickness of the plating layer of amorphous chromium is set to 0.1mum or more. By this method, a plating surface generating no crack or pinhole can be formed to the cap and the contaminant based on the thermally decomposed matter from the molten polymer is not bonded to the surface of the cap and the stripe fault generated on the surface of a cast film is certainly prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject woven fabric keeping various characteristics of polyester fiber such as dimensional stability and high strength, having improved affinity to a photosensitive emulsion and exhibiting excellent printing accuracy and print resistance by graft-polymerizing a hydrophilic vinyl monomer to a polyester fiber. CONSTITUTION:The objective woven fabric is produced by graft-polymerizing a hydrophilic vinyl monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) to a polyester fiber at a grafting ratio of preferably 0.3-5%. The graft-polymerization to the polyester fiber is preferably carried out after the scouring, drying and intermediate setting of a woven polyester fiber in order to eliminate the generation of uneven grafting and prevent the wrinkling. The polyester fiber is preferably a monofilament composed of polyethylene terephthalate.
