    Abstract: Opening edge surface (45a) of an emitter supporting unit female screw bore (45) provided at an emitter supporting unit (4) extends along radial direction of the emitter supporting unit female screw bore (45). An emitter supporting unit operation hole (32) provided at a flange portion (30a) of a vacuum enclosure (11) has shape into which one selected from a position adjustment shaft (6) and a pressing shaft (9) can be inserted from their shaft tip sides. The position adjustment shaft is provided, on an outer circumferential surface of its tip (61), with a tip side male screw portion (61a) that can be screwed into the emitter supporting unit female screw bore (45). The pressing shaft has, at its tip (91), a tip surface (91a) having a larger diameter than an opening diameter of the emitter supporting unit female screw bore (45) and extending along radial direction of the pressing shaft.

    Abstract: X-rays can be used for material identification. X-ray beam purity, target adhesion the x-ray window, and a robust hermetic seal of the x-ray window are useful. To achieve these objectives, a target 17 can be mounted by an adhesion-layer 16 on the x-ray window. The adhesion-layer 16 can include chromium. A sealing-layer 13 can seal the x-ray window to a flange 19. Material of the sealing-layer 13 can be different from material of the adhesion-layer 16. There can be a gap 21 between the flange 19 and the target 17. There can be a conductive-layer 18 on the x-ray window 14 in the gap 21. A thickness Ts of the adhesion-layer 16 between the sealing-layer 13 and the x-ray window 14 can be different than a thickness Tt of the adhesion-layer 16 between the target 17 and the x-ray window 14.

    Abstract: A computer tomograph operates by rigidly arranged x-ray tubes, which are components of emitter-detector elements, which form an emitter-detector ring opened by relocating one emitter-detector element. Each x-ray tube includes a cathode emitting electrons, and an anode arrangement having an anode. Each cathode has an orientation angle relative to the geometrical center axis of the computer tomograph. A tangential plane on the focal spot of the anode has a surface normal, which includes an anode angle with the center axis. X-ray radiation emitted from the focal spot is directed in a center radiation angle to an x-ray detector axially offset relative to the x-ray tubes. The quotient from the sum of the orientation angle, radiation angle and anode angle is between two ninths and two. Each cathode, interacting with an electrode arrangement of the x-ray tubes, produces a focal spot on one of selectable positions on the anode arrangement.
