    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head having a mirror casing and a mirror reflective element, and a mirror mounting structure configured to adjustably mount the mirror head at an interior portion of a vehicle. A receiving portion is configured for receiving a portable self-contained garage door opening module at least partially thereat. The module includes a user input and a housing that houses (i) circuitry, (ii) a transmitter and (iii) a battery. The module is operable to wirelessly transmit responsive to actuation of the user input. With the module at the receiving portion of the mirror assembly, the user input is accessible by the vehicle driver. The module is configured to cooperate with the receiving portion to releasably secure the module at the interior rearview mirror assembly, with the module being releasable from the interior rearview mirror assembly.

    Abstract: A system for coiling film onto a mandrel includes a film coiling device and a supply roll of film. The film coiling device includes a rotational drive device that is operable to rotate a mandrel to coil film from the supply roll onto the mandrel. The tension device is operable to provide a selected amount of tension on the film between the supply roll and the mandrel. A tension monitoring device is operable to determine a change in tension of the film between the supply roll and the mandrel. A control is operable to adjust a rotational speed of at least one roller to adjust the relative rotational speed of the supply roll and the rotational drive device to adjust the tension in the film. After the film is coiled around the mandrel, the film is cut and the mandrel and coiled film is removed from the film coiling device.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head pivotable about a mirror support, which is configured to attach at an interior portion of the vehicle. The mirror head includes a mirror reflective element having a transflective mirror reflector that at least partially reflects light incident thereon and at least partially transmits incident light therethrough. A video display device is disposed behind the mirror reflective element and includes a display screen backlit by a backlighting device, with the backlighting device including a plurality of micro-LEDs. With the mirror support attached at the interior portion of the vehicle, the video display device is operable to display video images captured by a camera of the vehicle, whereby light emitted by the video display device passes through the mirror reflective element for viewing displayed video images.

    Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head pivotally mounted at a mounting base configured for attachment at a side of a vehicle. The mirror head includes a mirror casing and a reflective element adjustably disposed at the mirror casing. A powerfold actuator is operable to pivot the mirror head relative to the mounting base between at least a folded position and a drive position. The powerfold actuator includes a primary detent that is engaged to retain the mirror head at the folded or drive position when the mirror head is pivoted via the actuator to the folded or drive position. The powerfold actuator includes a secondary detent. When the powerfold actuator pivots the mirror head between the folded and drive positions, the secondary detent is disengaged. When the mirror head is manually pivoted, the primary detent is disengaged and the secondary detent is engaged.
