    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply and quickly measure the activity of animal/botanical tissue, by contacting the electrode or constant potential device to culture solution and measuring the current or voltage produced where animal/botanical tissue reacts with the electrode or constant potential device. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 9, 10 incorporate and anode 3 and an anode solution 8 and have a connection lead 4 to contact with external liquid. One electrode 10 in which the platinum electrode 5 exposed is covered with an animal/botanical tissue opaque membrane 6 is an electrode to measure the electrode active substance other than the animal/botanical tissue present in fermentation liquid. The fermentation liquid of animal/botanical tissue or electrode active substance is in contact with the cathode 5 of the electrode 9 to produce a current or voltage. On the other hand, the electrode active substance only in also in contact with the cathode 5 of the electrode 10 to produce a current or potential. The difference of currents or potentials from two electrodes 9 and 10 very much corresponds to the number of cells and activity of animal/botanical tissue measured separately. Accordingly, the activity of animal/bontanical tissue can be measured.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate and easy modification as well as to realize a long-time reservation for the calibration checking standard solution of the iodine substitution type polarograph-system chlorine gauge which measures the residual chlorine in the water process system, by using the oxidizing agent which oxidizes the iodine ion and the acid which gives a fixed pH in combination. CONSTITUTION:The calibration checking standard solution for the iodine substitution type polarograph-system residual chlorine gauge is produced by mixing the oxidizing agent which liberates the iodine through oxidization of the iodine ion and the acid (such as the sulfuric acid, nitric acid, etc.) of such amount as to secure pH1.5-3.0 when mixed with the active reagent at introduction into the residual chlorine gauge. The oxidizing agent uses the sodium iodate, potassium iodate, potassium dichromate and the like, and is modified previously up to the 1-1000- fold density compared with the introduction time into the residual chlorine gauge. And in the case of the bromine substitution type polarograph-system liberation chlorine gauge, the potassium salt of bromic acid or the sodium salt is used for the oxidizing agent.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with setting of a value of calibration or correction at every time of replacement of an electrode and to enable free and proper use of electrodes for different purposes, by providing a storage means for the information on a measuring electrode in the measuring electrode or in a cable or a connector for connecting the measuring electrode to a device main body. SOLUTION: A type name and a serial number of an electrode given at the time of manufacture thereof are inputted as the information (data) on the electrode to a memory in the electrode 10, for instance, and calibration data are written therein at the time of inspection of the electrode. A means for reading and storing the information stored in the memory of the measuring electrode 10 is provided in a device main body 20 and also a means for writing the fresh calibration data and others in the memory of the measuring electrode 10 is provided therein. The device main body 20 corrects a pH value by computation on the basis of the calibration data read in and a potential obtained from a pH sensing part 11 of the measuring electrode 10 and displays it as a measured pH value. In a measuring device equipped with a printer, printing can also be executed as occasion demands.
