Abstract: An inkjet printhead and a manufacturing method thereof. The inkjet printhead includes a substrate, a substantially cylindrical ink chamber storing ink and formed in an upper portion of the substrate, and a manifold supplying ink to the ink chamber in a bottom portion of the substrate, a channel-forming layer disposed between the ink chamber and the manifold and having an ink channel communicating between the ink chamber and the manifold, a nozzle plate stacked on the substrate and having a nozzle at a location corresponding to the central part of the ink chamber, a heater formed to surround the nozzle of the nozzle plate, and electrodes electrically connected to the heater to supply current to the heater. Therefore, the quantity of ink stored in an ink chamber can be increased. Also, when bubbles grow, the cylindrical ink chamber confines an ink flow area to ink ejectors, thereby reducing a back flow of the ink. Further, the quantity of ink supplied to the ink chamber can be adjusted by varying the number of ink channels formed in the channel-forming layer, thereby improving frequency characteristics of the inkjet printhead.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for fabricating an ink jet print head is provided to process an inner portion of an ink passage by using XeF2 gas after forming the ink passage on a silicon substrate. CONSTITUTION: A silicon substrate(110) is prepared. An ink passage including an ink feeding manifold(112), an ink chamber(116) for containing ink to be exhausted, and an ink channel(114) for connecting the ink chamber(116) to the ink feeding manifold(112) is formed on the silicon substrate(110). XeF2 gas is applied to the ink passage so as to dry-etch a sidewall of the ink passage. When dry-etching the sidewall of the ink passage, the sidewall is inclined in such a manner that a sectional area of the ink passage is gradually reduced from the ink feeding manifold(112) to the ink chamber(116).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An alignment error compensating method of array inkjet head is provided to reduce manufacturing costs by alleviating the alignment accuracy of the head chip at the manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: An alignment error compensating method of array inkjet head(21,22) is as follows. The base head chip is decided. A plurality of reference lines of the main scanning direction is printed to be separated to the sub-scanning direction the reference gap by using the base head chip. A plurality of test lines offset about the reference gap the m times of the testing interval is printed by using the other head chips. The offset amount of the test line pitching is decided with the offset amount of each head chip. The step of deciding the offset amount of each head chip decides the offset amount of the test line with the opposite side offset amount of the head chip. The offset amount of the head chip which is in lead and sum total of the relative offset amount are decided with the offset amount of the corresponding head chip.
