A method for controlling focus of an optical information storage medium comprises: carrying out spherical aberration correction on a target data layer when a focus lead-in command is inputted(S10,S20), moving an objective lens to an upper direction of an optical disk(S30), detecting a data layer using a focus error signal and an RFDC(Radio Frequency Data Communication) signal(S40), detecting the next data layer(S50), comparing the fluctuation of the focus error signal of the data layer with that of the next data layer(S60), and recognizing the data layer as a target data layer when the fluctuation of the focus error signal of the data layer is greater than that of the next data layer(S70).
