Abstract: A method for self-localization using a parallel projection model are provided to simplify the configuration for self-localization by enabling self-localization with single images obtained by a single image acquisition device. At least two virtual visible planes placed between an image plane and a reference object plane and at least two reference object planes are set up. The reference objects are projected onto the virtual visible planes. The distance between a visible shaft and a reference object in an image acquisition device and between the visible shaft and an image of the image plane corresponding to a reference shaft are calculated. Self-localization is enabled by using azimuth and zoom vectors of the image acquisition device and the coordinate of reference objects.

Abstract: A method for displaying distribution of aquatic plants to a map image is provided to enable a user to easily search/check the distribution and information for various kinds of aquatic plants by databasing ecological/location information of the aquatic plants and displaying the distribution of the aquatic plants to a location on the map image with a histogram. An information providing server receives and stores the ecological/location information of each aquatic plant to a database(S420). The server maps the histogram of each aquatic plant to pixel coordinates of the corresponding location on the map image based on the ecological/location information and fixes a unique color to each mapped histogram(S440). The server determines whether the histogram having the different color is overlapped to the pixel coordinates close to the pixel coordinates of the fixed location(S450). If the histograms are overlapped, the server stacks the overlapped histograms on the close pixel coordinates(S460).

Abstract: A method for searching plants according to an outline of a leaf image is provided to enable a user to search/check a plant having the searched leaf image by sketching a leaf shape of various kinds of plants, extracting feature of a leaf outline from the leaf shape with an MPP(Minimum Perimeter Polygon) technique, and storing the extracted feature to a database. An information providing server receives and stores ecological/morphological information of each plant to an ecology/morphology database, extracts the feature of the leaf outline from a sketch of a leaf shape through the MPP technique, and stores the extracted feature to a leaf outline database by matching with the corresponding sketch(S420). A user computer uploads the leaf shapes to the server to search the specific plant(S430). The server calculates similarity of the leaf shape through a matcher by comparing the uploaded leaf shape with the leaf shape stored in the leaf outline database(S440). If the similar leaf shape is searched, the server displays the leaf shape which is similar to the uploaded leaf shape to the user computer(S460).
