Abstract: A clamping device for laser welding is provided to perform a welding operation more efficiently by actively reflecting the welding quality inspection into welding conditions, and a welding method using the device is provided. In a clamping device for clamping panels to conduct laser welding of the panels, a clamping device(100) for laser welding includes: a rotary screw(120) which is vertically movably installed on a body part(110) to hold panels; an electric motor(130) for driving the rotation of the rotary screw; ultrasonic sensors(140) which are fixed to the body part to measure a gap between the panels by detecting ultrasonic waves reflected after generating ultrasonic waves to the panels; and a blower(150) which ejects gas, and has a mass flow controller(151) to control the flow amount of the gas.

CONSTITUTION: A rotating module(100) for a clamping device comprises a base frame(110), a housing(120), a working motor(130), a gear unit(140), and a clutch unit.
