    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a beautiful purple colored free from change of color and fading by treating solid surface with an aqueous solution of gold salt, irradiating the whole face of the surface with light rays or through an image carrier and removing the gold salt on unexposed part. CONSTITUTION:Solid surface of silk fiber, cellulose fiber subjected to cationic treatment or solid material coated with gelatin is treated with an aqueous solution of a gold salt such as chloroauric acid, sodium chloroaurate or potassium tetracyanoaurate. Then the whole face of the solid surface is irradiated with light rays to seal the metal salt to the whole face. Light rays of negative image are projected to the surface by using a proper image carrier to partially form gold fine particles, the gold salt on an unexposed part is eluted and removed to provide a positive image colored in purple only on the exposed part.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:The pyrrole compound of formula (R is higher alkyl). EXAMPLE:3-Octylpyrrole. USE:The polymer of the compound is useful as an organic conductive polymer. PREPARATION:The objective compound of formula can be produced by acylating N-sulfonated pyrrole with a carboxylic acid chloride in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst, desulfonating the reaction product, separating an alkyl-3-pyrrolyl ketone from the obtained mixture of 2-substituted pyrrole and 3-substituted pyrrole and purifying and reducing the separated ketone. The Friedel-Crafts catalyst is e.g., stannic chloride or aluminum chloride and the reducing agent is aluminum lithium hydride, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polymer in a high conversion by a reaction in mild conditions by reacting an ethylene glycol diester with dimethyl terephthalate in a liquid hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:(B) Dimethyl terephthalate is dissolved in (A) a liquid hydrocarbon such as cyclohexane, etc., and (C) ethylene glycol diacetate and (D) an alkali metal alkoxide as a catalyst are then added thereto. The resultant mixture is subjected to a reaction at a temperature higher than the boiling point of methyl acetate, e.g., by heating the mixture under ordinary pressure to provide the objective polymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain metal fine powder having excellent electric and magnetic characteristic by mixing fused bath containing inogarnic metal salt or complex salt and its reducing agent under heating and stirring in a system of quick core forming reaction and quick growing reaction for developing the metal fine powder in the above fused bath. CONSTITUTION:The fused bath containing generally the organic metal salt of chloride, sulfate, etc., or the complex salt, in which contains complexing agent of NH3, etc., and its reducing agent is prepared. As the reducing agent, for example, sodium hypophophite, sodium boron hydroxide, etc., is used. Next, the above fused bath is heated and mixed under stirring or non-heated little quantity of the liquid is mixed with heated much quantity of the other liquid under stirring. By this method, the metal fine powder having the above excellent characteristic is easily obtd. Further, in order to obtain magnetic fine particle of Fe, Ni, Co, etc., by stirring under existence of the magnetic field, the magnetic fine powder having further improved electric and magnetic characteristics are obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a specified thiophene polymer in a neutral state and an organic semiconductor in the form a film which is excellent in heat resistance and smoothness, stable in air and useful as a display material and can be obtained without molding, by doping said polymer with an anion. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I, for example, synthesized by adding a Grignard reagent obtained by, for example, reacting 2-bromothiophene with metallic Mg to 2,5-dibromothiazole and condensing the mixture together with a supporting electrolyte comprising an anion-forming substance such as tetrafluoroborate, perchlorate, hexafluorophosphate, halide, SO4 or trifluoroacetate ion is electrolytically polymerized in a polar solvent such as propylene carbonate by using gold, platinum or the like as an electrode at a controlled electric quantity in an inert atmosphere. In this way, an anion-doped thiophene of repeating units of formula II (wherein R is a group of formula III, IV or V) having an electric conductivity of 10 -10 S/cm and a desired film thickness can be obtained. If desired, this polymer is converted into a thiophene polymer in a neutral state by removing the dopant by reversing the polarity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable uniform and firm metal plating only on the part of a body requiring plating by applying catalytic paste consisting of palladium hydrosol contg. a surfactant and of a water soluble binder to the body and by carrying out chemical plating. CONSTITUTION:Palladium hydrosol cong. one or more kinds of surfactants selected among cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants is mixed with a water soluble binder, stirred and cooled to prepare catalytic paste for chemical plating. This paste is applied to a body to be plated to stick palladium colloid and then the body is chemically plated with a metal such as Ni, Co, Nu or Ag. By this method, uniform and film chemical plating can be carried out only on the part requiring plating. This method is adoptable in the production of a decorative material, a heat insulating material, a magnetic tape to disk, a printed board or the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a metallic film having superior adhesion on plastics by chemical plating by successively treating the plastics with a surfactant and palladium hydrosol and carrying out chemical plating. CONSTITUTION:Plastics is treated in a soln. sontg. a surfactant, palladium colloid is stuck to the surface of the plastics by immersion in palladium hydrosol and then the plastics is chemically plated with a metal such as Ni, Co, Cu or Ag. One or more kinds of surfactants selected among cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants nay be added to the palladium hydrosol as required. By this method, a metallic film having superior adhesion can be formed on the surface of the plastics by chemical plating with high reproducibility.
