Abstract: The invention concerns radiation-hardenable coatings processed from melt, solution or dispersion and containing as binders copolymers comprising the following: a) at least one monomer of either the general formula (I) CH2 = C(R )-CO-OR , in which R stands for H, CH3 or C2H5 and R stands for H, CnH2n+1, n being 1-30, an alicyclic, araliphatic or heterocyclic group, a hydroxyalkyl-, alkoxyalkyl-, glycidyl- or aminoalkyl group, or of the general formula (II) CH2 = C(R )-CO-NR R , in which R stands for H or CH3, R and R can be identical or different and stand for H, CH2OH, CnH2n+1, n being 1-30, or CH2OR , R standing for CmH2m+1 and m being 1-12; and b) at least one copolymerisable ethylenically unsaturated organic compound of general formula (A), in which R' and R'' can be identical or different and stand for H or CpH2p+1, p being 1-6, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, and R''' stands for an acryloyl, methacryloyl, ethacryloyl or cinnamyloyl group and this compound can be partially replaced by one or more other copolymerisable ethylenically unsaturated organic compounds different from (a) and (b).

Abstract: Un proceso para preparar mezclas de diisocianatos de difenilmetano y poliisocianatos de polifenilpolimetileno que tienen un numero de color de yodo reducido y un contenido de cloro reducido haciendo reaccionar las mezclas correspondientes de difenilmetandiaminas y polifenilpolimetilenpoliaminas con fosgeno en presencia de por lo menos un solvente orgánico inerte a temperatura elevada, separar el exceso de fosgeno y el solvente después de completarse la fosgenacion y tratar térmicamente el producto de reaccion, en donde una mezcla de agua y por lo menos un alcohol de polioxialquileno monohídrico o polihídrico o una mezcla de los mismos se incorpora en una cantidad efectiva en la mezcla de reaccion después de que se completa la fosgenacion, en presencia o ausencia de fosgeno.

Abstract: Mixtures of diphenylmethane diisocyanates and polyphenylpolymethylene polyisocyanates (crude MDI) having a reduced iodine color number are prepared by reacting the corresponding mixtures of diphenylmethanediamines and polyphenylpolymethylene-polyamines with phosgene in the presence of one or more inert organic solvents at elevated temperatures by a process in which low molecular weight alkanols, polyhydric alcohols, preferably dihydric to octahydric alcohols having a molecular weight of from 60 to 350, or mixtures thereof are incorporated in an effective amount, advantageously in an amount of from 0.01 to 5% by weight, based on the weight of crude MDI, into the reaction mixture after the end of the phosgenation, the phosgene and the inert organic solvent are then separated off, from 0 to 5% by weight, based on the weight of crude MDI, of one or more phenol-based antioxidants and/or aryl phosphite are added to the reaction product, and the reaction mixture is subjected to a thermal treatment.
