    Abstract: Highly functional aromatic polyisocyanates are prepared by reacting aromatic polyisocyanates, if required as a mixture with further mono- and/or polyisocyanates, with addition of catalytic acidic substances and water, by a process wherein the aromatic polyisocyanates used comprise at least one tolylene diisocyanate and the catalytic acidic substance used is at least one alkyl and/or aralkyl phosphate, and the process is carried out in such a way that the water is added with a temperature/time gradient increase from 5 to 60°/hour and until an isocyanate modification of the starting NCO terminal groups from 1 to 80% is established. The highly functional aromatic polyisocyanates prepared by this process are used for the preparation of polyurethane foams, in particular flexible polyurethane foams.

    Abstract: En un proceso para preparar polioles de poliéter que contienen compuestos aromáticos mediante adicion molecular de oxido de alquileno a iniciadores H-funcionales a temperatura de 70 degree C a 135 degree C y presiones de 0.1 MPa a 1.0 MPa, la alcoxilacion se lleva a cabo usando por lo menos un iniciador que comprende por lo menos 95 por ciento en peso de 2,3- y 3,4-isomeros de tolilendiamina, de 0.5 por ciento a 4 por ciento en peso de 2,4 y 2,6-isomeros de tolilendiamina y de 0.1 por ciento a 1.5 por ciento en peso de fracciones más volátiles de la produccion de tolilendiamina. Los polioles de poliéter preparados mediante este proceso para producir espumas de poliuretano rígidas.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing polyether alcohols, comprising the following steps: a) reacting a low-molecular alcohol with alkylene oxide in the presence of a basic catalyst in order to form an alkylene oxide addition product having a molecular weight ranging from 200 to 900 g/mol; b) separating the basic catalyst from the product obtained in step a), and; c) reacting the product obtained in step b) with another alkylene oxide in order to produce the desired final product while using at least one DMC catalyst. The inventive method is characterized in that sodium hydroxide is used as the basic catalyst in step a).
