Abstract: The polyether alcohols production involves converting starting material liquid H-functional compounds with alkyl oxides at ambient temperature in presence of tertiary amines as catalysts. The conversion is performed in presence of 0.25-2 wt.% catalyst relative to weight of the finished polyether alcohols at 90-110 [deg] C, up to hydroxyl number from 500-650 mgKOH/g. 0-1 wt.% catalyst is added relative to weight of the finished polyether alcohols at 100-120 [deg] C up to hydroxyl number from 350-500 mgKOH/g.

Abstract: Production of rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam involves reacting (a) organic and/or modified organic di- and/or polyisocyanates with (b) special polyester-polyols (IA) and/or polyether-ester-polyols (IB) and optionally (c) chain extender and/or cross-linking agent in the presence of (d) blowing agent, (e) catalyst and optionally (f) other ancillaries and/or additives. (IA) and (IB) can be prepared by polycondensation of dicarboxylic acids with polyols using polyalkylene terephthalate (II) and, if necessary, reaction with lower alkylene oxide and optionally other higher molecular compounds with NOTLESS 2 reactive hydrogen atoms. The novelty is that the preparation of (IA) and/or (IB) is carried out by polycondensation in stages, with addition of (1) (II) to the starting materials at the beginning and/or during the first stage and (2) catalyst during other stage(s).

Estas espumas de poliuretano rígidas se puede usar como material aislante para los sectores de refrigeracion y de energía a gran distancia, como material de emparedado en edificacion y construccion, y como soporte y material de formacion en el sector de muebles.

Abstract: Method for processing polyetheralcohol obtained by the catalytic addition of alkylene oxide to active hydrogen containing starting material in the presence of a basic catalyst, comprises: (a) providing a basic catalyst under stoichiometric quantity of an acid to alkaline polyetheralcohol; (b) adding urea to the mixture (at least a quantity sufficient for neutralizing the basic catalyst); (c) removing the salts obtained in (a) and (b), and the excess urea; and (d) separating water and other easily volatile materials. Independent claims are included for: (1) polyetheralcohol obtained by the process; and (2) a process for the preparation of polyurethane comprising reacting a polyisocyanate with a compound containing at least two isocyanate reactive hydrogen atoms, preferably the polyether alcohol.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the work-up of polyether alcohols which have been prepared by base-catalyzed addition of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide onto H-functional starter substances and have a proportion of ethylene oxide in the polyether chain of greater than 20% by weight, preferably greater than 25% by weight, particularly preferably greater than 35% by weight and in particular greater than 50% by weight, based on the weight of the alkylene oxides used, which comprises the steps a) neutralization of the polyether alcohol with an acid subsequent to the addition reaction of the alkylene oxides, b) addition of at least one absorbent, c) removal of water and volatile compounds from the polyether alcohol, d) removal of the salts formed and the absorbents from the polyether alcohol, wherein phosphoric acid is used as acid in step a) in an amount of from 56 to 98% of the stoichiometric amount, the absorbent is used in an amount of from 0.05 to 5% by weight, based on the polyether alcohol, in step b) and at least one alkali metal hydroxide, alkaline earth metal hydroxide or amine is added to the polyether alcohol in an amount of from 0.001 to 0.5% by weight, based on the weight of the polyetherol, during the course of step c).
