Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing a porous metal-organic framework comprising at least one at least bidentate organic compound coordinated to at least one metal ion, where the at least one metal ion is a zinc ion and the at least one at least bidentate organic compound is based on 2-methylimidazole, which comprises the steps (a) addition of a first water-based solution comprising zinc ions to a second water-based solution comprising 2-methylimidazole, with a suspension being formed after addition of the second solution; (b) addition of a third solution comprising a strong base to the suspension formed in step (a).

Abstract: The present invention relates to an organotemplate-free synthetic process for the production of a zeoiitic material having a CHA-type framework structure comprising YO2, X2O3, and optionally comprising Z2O5, wherein said process comprises the steps of: (1 ) providing a mixture comprising one or more sources for YO2, one or more sources for X2O3, and seed crystals having a CHA framework structure, wherein the CHA framework structure of the seed crystals comprises YO2, X2O3, and optionally comprises Z2O5; and (2) crystallizing the mixture obtained in step (1 ); wherein Y is a tetravaient element, X is a trivalent element, and Z is a pentavalent element, wherein optionally one or more sources for Z2O5 are further provided in step (1 ), and wherein if the CHA framework of the seed crystals does not contain Z2O5, the seed crystals then have a Y02 : X2O3 molar ratio of 5 or greater than 5.

Abstract: A method for separating acetonitrile from water, comprising (i) providing a stream S1 containing at least 95 wt.-%, based on the total weight of S1, acetonitrile and water, wherein the weight ratio of acetonitrile: water is greater than 1; (ii) adding a stream P, comprising at least 95 wt.-% C3, based on the total weight of stream P, to S1 to obtain a mixed stream S2, C3 being propene optionally admixed with propane with a minimum weight ratio of propene: propane of 7:3; (iii) subjecting S2 to a temperature of 92° C. at most and a pressure of at least 10 bar, obtaining a first liquid phase L1 essentially consisting of C3, acetonitrile, and water, and a second liquid phase L2 essentially consisting of water and acetonitrile wherein the weight ratio of acetonitrile: water in L2 is less than 1; (iv) separating L1 from L2.
