Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the discharge capacity per volume when used as an electrode material of battery or photocell by forming polyaniline having fibrous structure in which a mean diameter of fiber is 0.8mum or more. CONSTITUTION:Polyaniline has fibrous structure in which fibers are randomly intertwined and a mean diameter of fiber is 0.8mum or more. Since polyaniline having fibrous structure has high bulk density such as 0.3-0.9g/cm , even when it is used without compression as the electrode material of a battery, discharge capacity per volume is increased and a battery which is compact but has large discharge capacity can be obtained. A mean diameter of fiber is 0.8mum or more, preferably 1-5mum, especially 1-2mum, and by using polyaniline having these fibers, the performance of a battery is further increased. Polyaniline having a mean diameter of 1mum or more has a bulk density of 0.35-0.9g/cm , and it is suitable as electrode material for battery.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably supply an IC memory holding voltage in response to a voltage drop of a system power source, by using a secondary battery in which an electrode active material of at least one of the negative pole and the positive pole consists of a conductive high polymer material, as a battery power source. CONSTITUTION:By using a secondary battery in which an electrode active material of at least one of the negative pole and the positive pole consists of a conductive high polymer material, as a battery power source 3, a holding voltage of an IC memory 4 of >=about 2.0V can be supplied by a single secondary battery. Also, since there is a corresponding relation between the battery voltage and the battery capacity, the available period up to the limit for supplying the holding voltage of the memory 4 without a hindrance can be known easily. As for the conductive high polymer material, by using polyaniline, a secondary battery whose battery capacity per electrode active material is large, and also, which is excellent in a repetitive characteristic of charge/discharge is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make inner resistance in a battery lower and cycle life longer instead, by using an organic conductive polymeric material, whose moisture content is specified, for an electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:An organic conductive polymeric material, whose moisture content is less than 500ppm, is used as an electrode active material. As for this polymeric material, polyaniline, especially, such polyaniline as secured by an electrolytic oxidative polymerizing process is separated and formed so excellent in coherence to an anode substrate in time of polymerization and that the substrate is utilizable for a collector body and a vessel for an electrode, so that it is desirable as electrode material. In addition, in order to make it into the moisture content of less than 500ppm, a method of electrochemical or an Soxhlet's extracting processes, etc., using a hygroscopic compound under vacuum heating is used. If this polymeric material is used, internal resistance becomes lowered, cycle life is prolonged and a lightweight battery is manufacturable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a secondary battery having high power and light weight by forming a positive electrode with electric conductive high polymer and a negative electrode with carbon containing graphite structure. CONSTITUTION:A secondary battery is fabricated by using electric conductive high polymer as a positive electrode, carbon containing graphite structure as a negative electrode, and electrolyte prepared by dissolving a compound capable of electrolytically producing an ion which can be doped into the positive and negative electrodes in a nonaqueous solvent. Performance, espetially energy density, of the secondary battery is substantially increased compared with a secondary battery using conventional electric conductive high polymer. Artificial carbon prepared by carbonizing a substance at a temperature of above 1,000 deg.C and less than 2,500 deg.C, or artificial graphite prepared by graphitizing a substace at 2,500 deg.C or more, or natural graphite is preferable as the carbon containing graphite structure.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display panel and an image display apparatus having improved durability for repeated use which can not be realized with normal air, without requiring a large-scale equipment.
SOLUTION: The image display panel is used for an image display apparatus which displays an image by sealing particle groups 3A between two opposing substrates 1, 2 at least one of which is transparent and applying an electric field on the particle groups via two kinds of electrodes 5, 6 having different potentials to make the particle groups fly and move. The gap between the substrates packed with the particle groups is filled with an anaerobic gas having low viscous resistance and tightly sealed. This invention can be also realized in a similar structure by using a powder fluid 3B instead of the particle groups 3A.
