    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly produce a polyurethane foam at low temperatures by reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a catalyst containing a compound having a tert-amino group and an NCO- reactive OH group and a compound having prim-amino groups, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer. SOLUTION: Preferably, the compound having a tert-amino group and an NCO-reactive OH group is 6-dimethylamino-1-hexanol. Preferably, the compound having prim-amino groups is a compound of the formula: H2N-(CH2)n-A-(CH2)n- NH2 and/or a compound selected from among 1,3-diaminopropane, hexamethylenediamine, etc. In the formula, A is a single bond -NR1-, -NR2-(CH2)x-B-(CH2)y-NR3-, -O(CH2CH2O)k-, or an N,N'-disubstituted piperazine ring; B is a single bond or -NR4-; R1 to R4 are each H or 1-4C alkyl; x and y are each 1-6; k is 0-30; and m and n are each x.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane excellent in thermal conductivity, friability and filling properties by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol in the presence of a specific catalyst composition and a foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:The catalyst composition is composed of 50-70wt.% 1- methylimdazole and/or 1-isobutyl-2-methylimidazole, 20-30wt.% N,N,N- trimethylaminoethylpiperazine, 5-15wt.% bis (dimethylaminoethyl) ether and 5-10wt.% formic acid. Furthermore, the objective polyurethane is obtained by reacting an organic polyisocyanate (preferably crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate, crude tolylene diisocyanate, etc.) with a polyol (preferably polyester polyols, a glycol, glycerol, etc.) in the presence of this catalyst composition and a foaming agent. Water used as the foaming agent is added in an amount of preferably 3-6 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polyol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject catalyst composed of methylimidazole and dimethylimidazole at a specific ratio, having high catalytic activity and short curing time and giving a polyurethane foam having excellent glueability. CONSTITUTION:The objective catalyst is composed of (A) 30-70wt.% of 1- methylimidazole and (B) 70-30wt.% of 1,2-dimethylimidazole. The catalyst is useful for the production of a polyurethane foam by reacting a compound having >=2 active hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of 300-10,000 (e.g. polyol) with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a foaming agent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to form a catalyst for polyurethane foam which can stably retain its effective retarding effect by mixing an organic carboxylic acid salt of a tertiary amine compound with a specified amount of a monoalcohol organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst for polyurethane foam is formed by mixing one or a plurality of organic carboxylic acid salts of tertiary amine compounds with a 1-6C monoalcohol organic solvent in an amount of 10-40wt.% based on the both. As the organic carboxylic acid salt, one produced by using 0.1-1.0 equivalent, per equivalent of the nitrogen atoms of the tertiary amine compound, of a monobasic organic carboxylic acid is desirable. As the above organic carboxylic acid, formic acid is particularly desirable. As the monoalcohol organic solvents, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, etc., are desirable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst which preferentially catalyzes urea formation, is very lowly odorous and shows small temperature dependency, by using a specified compound having an ether bond and a tert. amino group in the molecule as a component. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst comprising a compound of the formula. The amount of said catalyst used is preferably in the range of 0.01-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. polyol used in the production of a polyurethane. The compound of the formula can be easily produced by a chloride process comprising chlorinating triethylene glycol by reaction with chlorine and reacting the product with dimethylamine or a direct process comprising reacting triethylene glycol with dimethylamine in the presence of a catalyst and hydrogen. If necessary, additives such as a blowing agent, surfactant and flame retardant can be used in producing a polyurethane by using this catalyst.
