Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a picture tube by applying tension to shadow mask so that the tension becomes the specific ratio to the tension under which the movement of electron beams on a phosphor screen caused by thermal expansion of a shadow mask by the adsorption of electron beams is completely prevented. SOLUTION: When tension applied to a shadow mask is set so that the tension becomes 5-90% of the tension under which the movement of electron beams is completely prevented, the moving amount of electron beams on the phosphor screen caused by the thermal expansion of the shadow mask by the absorption becomes 10-90% that when the tension is not applied to the shadow mask, and irregular color is reduced to a level of paractically no problem. A mask supporting frame stretching the shadow mask having low strength and light weight can be used, and as a result, the weight of a picture tube itself is reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the spurious electric field of cathode-ray tube(CRT) device by providing a 1st lead wire between an node terminal and a flyback transformer with a leakage field suppressing means for reducing leakage electric fields. SOLUTION: At a conductive part, one terminal part of an insulating film 14a around a 1st lead wire 14 on the side of flyback transformer 15 is surrounded with a cylindrical conductive net. The tertiary winding wire of leakage field suppressing means 16 outputs the negative pulse of inverse polarity synchronously with the horizontal deflecting voltage wavelength of the horizontal deflection coil 11. This negative pulse is superimposed on the high voltage of 1st lead wire 14 through a capacitance formed between the 1st lead wire 14 and the conductive part, the ripple of horizontal deflection cycle included in the 1st lead wire 14 is canceled and as a result, the spurious leakage electric field caused by the ripple of horizontal deflection cycle included in the 1st lead wire 14 is suppressed. In this case, since the capacitance is formed between the 1st lead wire 14 and the conductive part, a filter capacitor is unnecessitated.

CONSTITUTION:A conductive transparent thin film 5, a transparent thin film 6 to be mounted on the thin film 5, are provided on the outer surface of a face panel 2. The transparent thin film 6 forms a coherent film, along with the transparent thin film 5, while the transparent thin film 6 has a plurality of recessed and protruded parts forming an irregular reflection surface, on its exposed surface. Light reflection on the outer surface of the face panel can thus be reduced, while appropriate irregular reflection can be achieved. Contamination by fingerprints and the like is reduced, and charge prevention effect is achieved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress positive trilemma in a picture area when used in combination with a frame aberration correcting coil by connecting in parallel a pair of raster distortion correcting coils with each of which a single diode is connected in series in such a manner that their respective diodes are facing in opposite directions. CONSTITUTION:A vertical deflection current flows through an upper coil 6 only when a specific voltage + V0 or over is retained. Thus, when this voltage level is not retained, no pin-cushion type magnetic field is generated by the coil 6, causing only the barrel distortion of diametrical magnetic field to be weakened with the resulting reduced positive trilemma (intersection of R and B beams) in the upper half of a picture area 1. Also, a vertical deflection current flows through a lower coil 8 only when a diode connected in opposite direction stays ON i.e., -V0 or less is retained, causing positive trilemma to be reduced in the lower half of the area I. With voltage level being +V0 or over, an element 5 is activated and a pin-cushion magnetic field is produced, making it possible to correct pin-cushion distortion in the upper portion of the raster and negative trilemma in an upper picture area II. With voltage level being -V0 or less, an element 7 is activated for correction in a similar manner. The continuity time for the coils 6, 7 is established through selecting of characteristics of the elements 6, 7, series count, and value of a resistance 9.

Here only the outside electron beam section (B') of an electron beam emitted from the cathode 2 and crossed over near a prefocus lens (PL) will cross over again, and the virtual emitting point (P3) of the ouside electron beam section is shifted more than the virtual emitting point (P1) of the central electron beam section to the main lens (ML) side. Consequently the electron beam section passing through the circumferential section of the main lens is considerably reduced thus to reduce the occurrence of the brooming considerably.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the temperature rise of a phosphor material screen, by forming black colored layers on the back face of a light reflective metal film formed on said screen and on the inner face of a funnel section. CONSTITUTION:A glass bulb 8 is constructed of a neck section 81, funnel section 82 and a face panel section 83. After forming a phosphor screen 10 on the face panel 83, a light reflectice aluminum film 13 is formed from the back face of the phosphor screen 10 to the inner face of the funnel section 82 such that its edge is lapped over a portion of a conductive film 11. A black material layer 14 having high thermal radiation factor is provided uniformly on the back face of the aluminum film 13. Consequently the thermal radiation from the phosphor material screen during the operation of the tube is improved to suppress the temperature rise of the phosphor screen and the face panel section.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of the leakage field of a magnet by providing a magnetic shielding board around a magnet for in-tube ion trap located at the bent of focusing electrode of a bent gun. CONSTITUTION:An electron gun 3 comprising a cathode 4, a control grid electrode 5, an acceleration electrode 6, a bent focusing electrode 7 and an anode is inserted into a neck 2 of a glass bulb 1. On the other hand the bent 7' of the focusing electrode 7 is flexed to locate a ring-shaped ion trap magent 21. Moreover magnetic shielding boards 22, 23 composed of pure ion are provided while facing against both faces of said magnet 21, to prevent the leakage flux of said magnet 21 from entering into the side of main lens or prefocus lens. Consequently the electron beam can be prevented from being subjected to unnecessary deflection.
