Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent black dyestuff good in lightfastness and the like by incorporating a specified phthalocyanine derived dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:The phthalocyanine derived dyestuff to be used is represented by formula I in which R is amino or hydroxy, when R is amino, R is H, halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy, and all of R in formula I are same, and when R is hydroxy, all of R are H, halogen, or the like, and each is same as each other, and n is 2, 3, or 4, thus permitting the obtained dystuff to be superior in melt miscibility, transparent and black, stable in the image density obtained by repeated successive copying, and good in lightfastness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an image of a bright cyan color without having fogging by incorporating a specific anthraquinone dye into a resin binder. CONSTITUTION:The dye expressed by the formula I is incorporated into the binder resin. In the formula I, R denotes a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, alkoxy alkyl group, alkoxyalkoxy group, aralkyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group or alkylcarboxy group. The dye which is stable in the image density obtd. in continuous copying by repetitive development, does not generate fogged development and is good in the fastness of a cyan color to light, etc., is obtd. in this way.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a fog-free sharp image and superior light resistance by incorporating in a binder resin a dye obtained by diazotizing a substituted aniline compound and coupling it with an N-subsituted pyridone compound. CONSTITUTION:The color toner is prepared by diazotizing the dye represented by formula I obtained by diazotizing the substituted aniline compound and coupling it with an N-substituted pyridone compound and dispersing the obtained dye into a binder resin, and in formula I, R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy; R2 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl, or alkoxycarbonylalkyl; R3 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, or aralkyl. This yellow type color toner composition has superior melt miscibility, and the densities of images obtained by successive copying through repeating developments are stabilized, and the yellow color of the dye has good lightfastness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate gradational recording and provide suitability for full-color recording, by using a specified anthrequinone cyan coloring matter, and controlling the quantity of the coloring matter transferred through sublimation by regulating the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer. CONSTITUTION:An anthraquinone coloring matter for sublimation transfer recording of the formula, produced by esterifying a 1-substd. amino-4- bromoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid through an acid chloride and condensing the resultant ester with an aniline acid by the conventional method is mixed with a resin, a solvent or the like to prepare a recording ink, which is applied to e base to obtain a transfer sheet. The sheet is superposed on a recording material, and heat and pressure are applied by a thermal recording head from the back side of the sheet, whereby the coloring matter on the sheet is transferred onto the recording material. In the formula, each of R1 and R2, which may be the same or independent from each other, is a straight chain or branched lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkoxyalkyl, and each of R3, R4 and R5, which are the same or independent from each other, is hydrogen, a straight chain or branched lower alkyl, alkoxyl or alkenyl.

CONSTITUTION:A binder resin contains the yellowish red dye of formula I and the bluish red dye of formula II alone or in a mixture to form the magenta color. An amount of each dye for the magenta color toner is, preferably, about 0.1-10wt.%. In formulae I and II, X is O or S, each of R1-R3 is alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, hydroxy, or halogen, thus permitting a fog-free sharp magenta color image to be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent thermal decomposition under the operating conditions of a thermal recording head, ensure easy sublimation and favorable tone reproduction properties and enhance stability to light, moisture and chemicals, by using a specified indoaniline cyan coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:An indoaniline cyan coloring matter of formula I can be controlled in the quantity thereof transferred through sublimation, by regulating the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer. Therefore, the coloring matter enables easy gradational recording, and is suitable for full-color recording. Further, the coloring matter is free of thermal decomposition during transfer recording, because of the stability thereof to heat, light, moisture, chemicals and the like,and the preservability of records being obtained is excellent. The coloring matter is favorable in solubility in organic solvents and dispersibility in water, so that it is easy to prepare a high-concentration ink comprising the coloring matter uniformly dissolved or dispersed, and records with favorable color density can be obtained. Thus, the coloring matter is of practical value.

Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:An anthraquinone pigment of formula I [R is benzyl or cyclohexyl; R is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, 5-6-membered cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkenyloxyalkyl, alkoxy(alkoxy)alkyl, hydroxy(alkoxy)alkyl or hydroxythioalkyl]. EXAMPLE:The compound of formula II. USE:A colorant for heat-sensitive sublimation transfer recording. It has excellent light-resistance, storage stability and sublimation transfer performance. PREPARATION:For example, the compound of formula III is mixed with chlorobenzene and a mixture of pyridine and thionyl chloride by stirring under heating. Excess thionyl chloride is removed from the mixture under reduced pressure and the residual mixture is added with cyclohexanol and stirred under heating. The product is cooled at room temperature, added with methanol, filtered to collect precipitated crystal, washed with water and dried to obtain the objective pigment.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled coloring matter having favorable light resistance and sublimation transferability, by using a specified anthraquinone compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound of general formula (1), wherein R is an alkylene, cycloalkyl or alkoxyalkyl, can be obtained by bringing quinizarin into reaction with iodine, bromine or chlorine in an organic solvent such as 0-dichlorobenzene and nitrobenzene to synthesize 2-halo-quinizarin and then bringing 2-halo- quinizarin into reaction with an amine of the formula H2NR in an aprotic polar solvent such as N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and sulfolane in the presence of a deoxidizing agent such as potassium carbonate and sodium carbonate. To produce an ink for thermal transfer recording by using this coloring matter, the coloring matter may be mixed with an appropriate resin, a solvent, water or the like.
