    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition which is excellent in transparency, slipperiness and wear resistance, can be used adequately for magnetic recording media, electrical insulation, general industries, food packaging and the like, and particularly combines various characteristics such as flavoriness, adhesion and impact resistance suitable as a film for food packaging and a metal plate laminating film for metallic cans for beverages and foods. SOLUTION: The polyester composition comprises a polyester resin and an inorganic particle composed primarily of the oxide of an element selected from the III and/or IV group in the periodic table, wherein the content of the inorganic particle is 0.001-10 wt.% based on the polyester resin, the BET specific surface area is 30-1,000 m2/g, and the surface hydroxy group concentration is 5×10-3 mol/g or less.
