    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for precision moldings which modifies the failure of moldings due to mold remainders and mold deposits of moldings, is of a high cycle and highly reliable, and hence is excellent in molding stability, and the moldings. SOLUTION: The resin composition for precision moldings comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of one or more liquid crystalline resin comprising a liquid crystal polyester and/or a liquid crystal polyesteramide, (B) 5-100 pts.wt. of a filler and (C) 0.01-0.8 pts.wt. of a polyethylene resin having a density of 0.94-0.97 g/cm3 and a melt flow rate of 5-15 (g/10 min) as specified in ASTMD1238.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a flame-retardant resin composition useful for electrical and electronic components, OA and AV components, etc., and excellent in flame retardancy, heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and hue. SOLUTION: There is provided a process for producing a flame-retardant resin composition containing 100 pts.wt., in total, liquid crystal resin (A) and liquid crystal resin (B) which may be the same as or different from resin A and 0.01-30 pts.wt. red phosphorus, which process comprises: first preparing a highly concentrated liquid crystal resin composition (C) containing 100 pts.wt. resin B and 0.5-100 pts.wt. red phosphorus by melt kneading, and then melt- kneading 100 pts.wt. resin a with 0.5-100 pts.wt. composition (C) to adjust the red phosphorous content to a desired value.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R1 is 4-18C alkyl; R2 is optically active alkyl; X is C or N). Liquid crystal temperature range of chiral smectic C phase of the liquid crystal composition can be effectively extended by using the compound as one component for another liquid crystal compound. PREPARATION:A compound shown by formula II is reacted with thionyl chloride according to the reaction formula to give a compound shown by formula III. Then this compound is dissolved in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent such as benzene, etc., and reacted with a compound shown by formula IV in the presence of pyridine, etc., to give a compound shown by formula I.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a chemically stable and practical packing agent which is relatively easy to manufacture with a broad range of analyzable compound, by using an optically active monomer given by a specified formula.
