    Abstract: A laminated polyester film which comprises a base polyester film and, formed on at least one surface thereof, a laminating membrane comprising two types of polyester resin, wherein said two types of polyester resin are a polyester resin (A) having a glass transition temperature of 60 ° C to 100 ° C and a polyester resin (B) having a glass transition temperature of 0 ° C to 60 ° C, the polyester resin (B) contains specific components in specific amounts, and the polyester resins (A) and (B) exhibit specific proportions of the amount of a sulfonate metal salt group-containing dicarboxylic acid component in the total amount of a dicarboxylic acid component. The laminated polyester film retains excellent characteristics inherent in the base polyester film and also exhibits satisfactory adhesion with various coatings, which has not been achieved by a conventional polyester film, and further has satisfactory anti-blocking property, transparency, scratch resistance and the like.

    Abstract: A first multilayer film of the invention is a multilayer film which contains a layer A on at least one surface of a base film, in which the layer A has (1) a polycaprolactone segment, (2) a polysiloxane segment and/or a polydimethyl siloxane segment, and (3) a urethane bond, and the layer A has a glass transition temperature of from -30 to 0°C. A second multilayer film of the invention is a multilayer film which contains a layer A on at least one surface of a base film, in which the layer A has (1) a polycaprolactone segment, (2) a polysiloxane segment and/or a polydimethyl siloxane segment, and (3) a urethane bond, and the layer A has a scratch recovery time of 3 seconds or less at a temperature of 10°C. A third multilayer film of the invention is a multilayer film which contains a layer B on at least one surface of a base film, in which the layer B has a polycaprolactone segment and a urethane bond, and the layer B has average elongation at break of 65% or more at 80°C to 150°C. The multilayer film of the invention has excellent conformability and self-healing property during molding and excellent self-healing property at low temperatures. Thus, the multilayer film of the invention can be used in applications where moldability and self-healing property are required at the same time.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film having excellent elastic modulus, reduced in the absolute value of the coefficient of temperature expansion, having a low heat shrinkage factor, and suitable for a high capacity magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The laminated polyester film is constituted by laminating a reinforcing layer which comprises a composition prepared by dispersing at least one kind of inorganic particles selected from colloidal silica, colloidal alumina and colloidal titania in a matrix mainly comprising a composite oxide of silicon and titanium, on at least the single surface of a biaxially oriented polyester film. The elastic modulus in the longitudinal direction and/or lateral direction of the laminated film is not less than 6 GPa.

SOLUTION: In a process for manufacturing a polyester film, a laminated film forming coating in which at least one resin selected from acrylic resins, polyester resins and urethane resins is a main constituent ingredient is applied on at least one face of the polyester film before crystallization orientation is completed and then, it is drawn in at least one direction and is heat-treated and thereafter, electrical discharge machining is applied on the laminated film under nitrogen atmosphere to manufacture the laminated polyester film with a waterdrop contact angle on the surface of the laminated film of at least 50 degree.
