    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having high stretchability and useful for stockings, etc., by carrying out the composite melt spinning using a crystalline polyamide as the low-shrinkage component and a specific polyether ester amide polymer, etc., as the high-shrinkage component. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber can be produced by the composite melt spinning of a polyether ester amide polymer and/or polyether amide polymer (a high-shrinkage polymer) derive from (A) the diamine of formula (R is 1-4C alkylene or alkylidene; R1 and R2 are H or CH3), (B) a 6-15C aliphatic or alicyclic carboxylic acid (essentially equimolar amount to the diamine component A), (C) a polyalkylene oxide glycol and/or polyalkylene oxide diamine having a number-average molecular weight of 300-2,000 and (D) a 4-20C dicarboxylic acid, and a crystalline polyamide (a low-shrinkage polymer). No thermal decomposition, foaming or gelatinization of the elastomer occurs during spinning.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a self-crimping conjugate fiber having fine crimping property and excellent stretchability and recovery and suitable for stockings, etc., by the composite melt spinning of a polymer composed of a crystalline polyamide and having low shrinkability and a polymer composed of a specific polyether ester amide polymer, etc., and having high shrinkability. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber can be produced by the composite melt spinning of (A) a polymer composed of a crystalline polyamide and having low shrinkage [preferably a polymer containing >=95(wt)% nylon 6 or >=90% nylon 66] and (B) a polymer having high shrinkage and composed of a polyether ester amide polymer and/or polyether amide polymer derived from (i) epsilon- caprolactam, epsilon-aminocaproic acid and/or their oligomer, (ii) a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol and/or poly(alkylene oxide) diamine having a number-average molecular weight of 300-6,000 and (iii) a 4-20C dicarboxylic acid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-quality fiber having excellent thermal characteristics and physical properties and giving a knit or woven union fabric having high stretchability when combined with other fibers, by melt-spinning a polyether (ester) amide polymer having a specific composition and drawing the spun fiber at a specific draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber can be produced by melt-spinning a polyether (ester) amide polymer derived from (A) the diamine of formula (R is 1-4C alkylene or alkylidene; R1 and R2 are H or CH3) (e.g., 4,4'-diamino dicyclohexylmethane), (B) 6-15C aliphatic or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid (prefer ably sebacic acid, etc.) (equimolar amount to the component A), (C) a poly (alkylene oxide) glycol and/or poly(alkylene oxide) diamine having a number- average molecular weight of 300-2,000 [preferably poly(tetramethylene oxide) glycol] and (D) a 4-20C dicarboxylic acid, cooling and solidifying the spun fiber and drawing the fiber at a draw ratio larger than 0.5 times the breaking elongation of the elastic fiber.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To small amount of water-containing finishing oil is applied to a polyamide yarn after it is melt extruded and solidified by cooling, then drawn and heat set between mirror-finished rollers, further a water-containing finishing oil is applied additionally, thus giving desired amounts of water and oil in a direct spin-draw process. CONSTITUTION:A melt-spun polyamide yarn is solidified by cooling, treated with a very small amount of a water-containing finishing oil by means of an oiling roll 4, and drawn and heat set between a mirror-finished roll 5 and another hot mirror-finished roll 6. Then, additional water-containing finishing oil is applied and the resultant yarn is wound up. The peripheral speed of the roll is set over 3,000m/min, the oil pick-up is 0.2% in the first application and 0.5-1.5% in the second based on the yarn and the water is applied by 2-5% in the second oiling.
