Therefore, the Centralized Management System is capable of communicating the Computer with the First-Level Station through a Dual Port RAM (Random Access Memory), intercommunicating a plurality of Second-Level Stations through a Multipoint Interface and Multipoint Bus, and controlling and managing several thousands of Terminals (for example, Public Telephones).

Abstract: The apparatus includes a first data path which transmits user traffic data. At least a distribution unit is orthogonally provided on the first data path for distributing the traffic data by using an orthogonal code. A second data path is provided for bypassing the first data path. A control unit controls the data transmission path by selecting the length of an orthogonal code and a chip rate from the first and second data path in response on a digital bit rate. The control unit selects the first data path for the distribution of the traffic data using the orthogonal distribution unit if the product of the digital bit rate and the length of the code equals the chip rate otherwise the second transmission path is selected. A long-PN code generation unit distributes an output from the distribution unit using a long PN code with a fixed code offset, when the first data path is selected. When the second data path is selected the traffic data are distributed directly using a long PN code with different code offsets.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fabrication of a hetero-junction bipolar transistor in which a base parasitic capacitance is fully reduced by using a metallic silicide as a base, comprising the steps of injecting an impurity in a silicon substrate to form a conductive buried collector region; growing a collector epitaxial layer on the buried collector region and forming a field oxide layer; selectively injecting an impurity into the collector epitaxial layer to form a collector sinker; sequentially forming a base layer and an first oxide layer thereon; patterning the first oxide layer to define an extrinsic base region; ion-implanting an impurity in the extrinsic base region using a patterned oxide layer as a mask and removing the patterned oxide layer; depositing a metallic silicide film thereon to form a base electrode thin film; forming a capping oxide layer of about 500 ANGSTROM thickness only on the base electrode thin film; forming an isolating oxide layer thereon and sequentially and selectively removing the isolating oxide layer, the capping oxide layer, the base electrode thin film and the base layer using a patterned photomask to form a pattern, the isolating oxide layer being provided to electrically isolate base and emitter; forming a side wall oxide layer at both side edges of the pattern; removing a portion of the isolating oxide layer to define an emitter region; forming a passivation layer thereon and selectively removing the passivation layer to form contact holes; and depositing a polysilicon layer doped with impurity ions in the contact holes to form electrodes.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the increase of the usable amount of the user of a prepaid card used for card type public telephone sets and, at the same time, to minimize the capacity of a memory which stores the usable amount. CONSTITUTION: A prepaid integrated circuit card is provided with a control section 20 which makes an input-output section 10 receive a new usable amount and instruction words for communication from a public telephone set 50 and discriminates whether or not an instruction word for communication received by means of the section 10 is the updating instruction of the usable amount stored in a memory 40. The control section 20 makes a comparator 30 compare the usable amount stored in the memory 40 with the new usable amount and controls the updating of the usable amount stored in the memory 40 based on the compared results.

Abstract: A multiplier and a neural network synapse capable of removing nonlinear current using current mirror circuits. The multiplier produces a linear current by using MOS transistors operating in a nonsaturation region. The multiplier includes a first current mirror including a plurality of MOS transistors to form a first current and a second current mirror including a plurality of MOS transistors to form a second current, wherein the second current mirror is coupled in parallel to the first current mirror. As a result, the multiplier outputs an output current by subtracting a second current from said first current.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor device comprises sequentially forming a pad oxide film 62, first polysilicon film 63, Si oxide film 64, nitride film 65, and a second polysilicon film 66 on a silicon substrate 61, using trench masking to define active and inactive regions and forming a trench on both sides of the active region, filling the trench with insulating material and depositing it on film 66 to form an isolating film 67, polishing film 67 using film 66 as a first polishing stopper, removing film 66 and polishing film 67 using film 65 as a second polishing stopper, removing films 65 and 64, depositing a protective insulating film (65' of nitride, Figures 4F and 4G) on the active region, performing thermal oxidation to form a FOX film 60 only on the inactive region, and removing the films formed on the pad oxide film of the active region. Because the active region is defined using all insulator-filled shallow trench 67 before performing thermal oxidation, no oxygen penetrates into the active region during the thermal oxidation, whereby a FOX film 60 can be formed without occurrence of a Bird's beak.

Abstract: A rotation and alignment device for assembling of an optical fiber connector with a lower connection loss. This device image-processes the distribution of optical intensity of light emitted from an end surface of an optical fiber of a ferrule and derives an optical peak intensity point of the end surface of the optical fiber such that the point is placed in a predetermined region of a rectangular coordinate system. This device comprises a rotation and marking part for controlling a rotational position of a marker with respect to the ferrule and marking the optical peak intensity point on an outer surface of the ferrule. A ferrule fixture part is coupled to the rotation and marking part and fixes the ferrule such that the outer surface of the ferrule is marked with the optical peak intensity point by the marker. A vertical supporting part supports the rotation and marking part and the ferrule fixture pat. An optical system and fiber alignment part is mounted on the support rail part and magnifies and aligns the end surface of the optical fiber of the ferrule. The support rail part assures the rotation and marking part and the optical system and alignment part of a desired horizontal location.

Abstract: A method for automatically verifying the accuracy of an electronic map by an algorism which is adapted to verify irregular unit objects on the electronic map, thereby reducing the verification time and costs while obtaining improved verification accuracy. The method includes the steps of calculating a desired number of unit straight lines to be included in a broken line, overlapping an image, which is indicative of raster data transformed from vector data obtained based on original raster data of an original map, with an image indicative of the original raster data, thereby calculating the number of overlapping unit straight lines, and verifying the accuracy of the electronic map, based on the calculated results along with desired limitations associated with those results.
