    Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for measuring the braking performance of an electric railroad car is provided to check the uniform dispersion of the braking power and to test many cars simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: A system for measuring the braking performance of an electric railroad car includes a measurement device with many channels. The measurement device includes a strain gauge(10), a temperature sensor(20), a pressure sensor(30) and a thermocouple. An amplifier for amplifying sensed signals is connected to each device. A bridge circuit is connected to the strain gauge, and a dynamic strain amplifier is connected to the strain gauge. The pressure sensor measures the piston pressure of a brake cylinder. The signals measured by the measurement devices are recorded in a recording device(70) and analyzed and processed by a data analyzing and processing device(100).
