    Abstract: A process for the continuous coagulation of aqueous dispersions of graft rubbers suitable for toughening thermoplastics is described. In the process, dispersions are transported through an apparatus having at least one shear element with a slotted stator and a rotating of the rotor within the stator, so that said dispersions are passed radially from the inside to the outside as a result of the rotation of the rotor in the shear element and, during or after passage through the slots of the rotor and stator, are subjected to such strong shearing that they coagulate, resulting in graft rubber coagulums which can be readily worked up even at a solids content of more than 50% by weight of elastomers.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a mixing device comprising at least one screw injection moulding machine (S1) and a screw injection moulding machine (S2). (S1) is provided with heating devices at least in the plasticising and homogenising section, and the outlet pertaining to (S2) is connected to the screw cylinder of (S1) in the plasticising or homogenising section pertaining to (S1). It is essential that (S1) and (S2) are connected by means of a connecting device provided with a cooling device which acts up to the inner wall of the screw cylinder of (S1). The invention also relates to methods for producing thermoplastically processable moulding materials, especially additive batches, consisting of at least one thermoplastic component (K1) and at least one component (K2). The melting or decomposition temperature (TS ) of (K2) is at least ca. 50 DEG C lower than the temperature (TW ) which limits the lower end of the thermoforming range of (K1), (K2) only largely being melted after coming into contact with (K1).

    Abstract: A process for the production of rubber particles containing 80-100 wt.% of a conjugated diene monomer and 0-20 wt.% of a monoethylenically unsaturated comonomer comprises emulsion polymerization in the presence of an emulsifier and an initiator whereby the monomers are added either in polymerized form as a seed latex or in monomeric form via subsequent in-situ polymerization to form a seed latex. A process for the production of rubber particles (I) containing in polymerized form (A) 80-100 wt.% of at least one conjugated diene monomer and (B) 0-20 wt.% of at least one monoethylenically unsaturated comonomer, comprises emulsion polymerization in the presence of an emulsifier and an initiator whereby: (1) a mixture (M1) comprising (M1a) 20-100 wt.% water and (M1b) 0.1-100 wt.% emulsifier is added; (2) simultaneously or thereafter a mixture (M2) comprising (M2a) 90-100 wt.% of styrene, alpha -methylstyrene, butadiene, n-butylacrylate, methylmethacrylate and/or acrylonitrile and (M2b) 0-10 wt.% of at least one copolymerizable monomer whereby monomers (M2a) and (M2b) are added either in polymerized form as a seed latex or in monomeric form via subsequent in-situ polymerization to form a seed latex, or as a mixture of polymerized and monomeric forms, whereby the seed-latex polymer has an average mol. wt. of greater than 2000; (3) the polymerization of the resulting mixture is initiated in the presence of the polymerization initiator at 5-95 [deg]C; (4) simultaneously or thereafter a mixture (M3) comprising (M3a) 0-100 wt.% comonomer (B) (wrt (B)) and (M3b) 0-25 wt.% diene monomer (A) (wrt (A)) is added; (5) simultaneously or thereafter a mixture (M4) comprising (M4a) the residual 75-100 wt.% (A) (wrt (A)) and (M4b) the residual 0-100 wt.% (B) (wrt (B)); and (6) polymerization is carried out to a conversion of 90-95 (wrt the total amount of monomers) whereby the residual 0-80 wt.% of the emulsion water and the residual 0-99.9 wt.% of the emulsifier are added individually or separately at one or more steps (2)-(5). An independent claim is included for the resulting rubber particles (I).

    Abstract: The invention relates to the essentially salt-free coagulation of plastic or rubber dispersions using shearing forces. A device with at least one shearing element (3) is used to this end. Said device has a stator (7) and a rotor (9) which is arranged inside said stator, the surfaces of the stator and the rotor that point towards each other each being flat. Alternatively, at least the rotor has a structure which is configured on its surface and which points in the direction of the stator from said surface. A gap (11) with a predetermined gap width is configured between the stator and the rotor. The method is carried out in such a way that the dispersion to be coagulated is guided through the gap (11) between the stator (7) and the rotor (9) and precipitated through the rotation of the rotor at a predetermined shear speed and with a predetermined shear deformation.
