Abstract: A method for the production of formaldehyde by gas phase oxidation of methanol vapour with a gas flow containing a molecular oxygen in the presence of solid bed catalyst containing iron and molybdenum is carried out in a reactor (1) comprising thermal sheet metal plates (2) which are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the reactor (1) and spaced from each other. A heat transfer medium flows through the gaps between the plates. The heat transfer medium is transferred via inlets and outlets 3, 4 to the thermal sheet steel plates (2), and gaps (5) between the thermal sheet steel metal plates (2) and which are filled with the solid bed catalyst and into which the gas containing the methanol vapour and the molecular oxygen flows.

Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor for partial oxidation of a fluid reaction mixture in the presence of a heterogeneous particulate catalyst. Said reactor comprises one or several cuboid heat-transfer sheet modules (1) which are each composed of two or several right-angled heat-transfer sheets (2), arranged parallel to each other such as to form a slit (3) which can be filled with the heterogeneous particulate catalyst and through which the fluid reaction mixture flows, the heat of reaction being absorbed by a heat carrier which flows through the heat-transfer sheets (2) and at least partially evaporates. Said reactor also comprises a mainly cylindrical envelope (4, 15, 16) which depressurizes the heat-transfer sheet modules and fully surrounds said modules, said envelope being composed of a cylinder casing (4) and of caps (15, 16), closing said casing at both ends, the longitudinal axis of which extends parallel to the plane of said heat-transfer sheets (2). Said reactor finally comprises one or several sealing elements (7, 23), arranged so that the fluid reaction mixture flows only through the slit (3), except through the reactor interior spaces, defined by the caps (15, 16).

Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de fosgeno mediante reacción en fase gaseosa de monóxido de carbono y de cloro en presencia de un catalizador en lecho fijo, en uno o varios reactores (1) de forma cilíndrica, con un haz de tubos de contacto (2) dispuestos paralelamente entre sí, ordenados en la dirección longitudinal del reactor, que están fijados en sus extremos en platos de tubos (3), respectivamente con una caperuza (4) en ambos extremos del reactor (1), así como con chapas de desviación (6) dispuestas perpendicularmente con respecto a la dirección longitudinal del reactor, en cavidades intermedias (5) entre los tubos de contacto (2), que dejan libres, sobre la pared interna del reactor, orificios de paso (7) contrapuestos entre sí de manera alternativa, estando cargados los tubos de contacto (2) con el catalizador en lecho fijo, conduciéndose la mezcla de la reacción en estado gaseoso desde un extremo del reactor por una caperuza (4) a través de los tubos de contacto (2) y descargándosepor el extremo opuesto del reactor a través de una segunda caperuza (4) y conduciéndose a través de la cavidad intermedia (5) alrededor de los tubos de contacto (2) un agente intercambiador de calor líquido, caracterizado porque se dejan libres de tubos el o los reactores (1) en la zona de los orificios de paso (7) para la realización del procedimiento.

Partial oxidation in the gas phase of 3C and/or 4C precursor compounds to (meth)acrolein and/or (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a heterogeneous particulate catalyst in a reactor having cuboidal thermoplate modules which are each formed from two or more rectangular thermoplates arranged parallel to each other while in each case leaving a gap which can be filled with the heterogeneous particulate catalyst and is flowed through by the fluid reaction mixture, the heat of reaction being absorbed by a heat carrier which flows through the thermoplates and thus at least partly evaporating; having a predominately cylindrical shell which releases the pressure at the thermoplate modules, completely surrounds them and comprises a cylinder jacket and hoods (15, 16) which seal it at both ends and whose longitudinal axis is aligned parallel to the plane of the thermoplates; and having sealing element(s) which are arranged in such a way that the fluid reaction mixture, apart from flowing through the reactor interior spaces bounded by the hoods, only flows through the gap.
