    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing trioxane and at least one comonomer for producing (co)polymers on a trioxane basis, in which, in a first step, formaldehyde and at least one comonomer starting material are reacted in aqueous solution to form trioxane and comonomer, wherein a reaction mixture A1 containing trioxane, comonomer, formaldehyde, water and if appropriate comonomer starting material is obtained. In a second step, the reaction mixture A1 is distilled in a first distillation stage at a first pressure, wherein a trioxane- and comonomer-enriched stream B1 and an essentially water- , formaldehyde- and if appropriate comonomer starting material-containing stream B2 are obtained. In a third step, the stream B1 is distilled in a second distillation stage at a pressure which is above the pressure of the first distillation stage, wherein a trioxane-, comonomer- and water-containing stream C1 and a product stream C2 essentially consisting of comonomer and trioxane are obtained.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an integrated process for preparing trioxane from formaldehyde in which, in a first step, a stream A 1 comprising water and formaldehyde and a recycle stream B 2 consisting substantially of water and formaldehyde are fed to a trioxane synthesis reactor in which the formaldehyde is converted to trioxane to obtain a product stream A 2 comprising trioxane, water and formaldehyde. Stream A 2 and a recycle stream D 1 comprising trioxane, water and formaldehyde are fed to a first distillation column and distilled at a pressure in the range from 0.1 to 2.5 bar to obtain a stream B 1 enriched in trioxane, and the stream B 2 consisting substantially of water and formaldehyde. Stream B 1 is fed to a second distillation column and distilled at a pressure in the range from 0.2 to 17.5 bar to obtain a product stream C 2 consisting substantially of trioxane, and a stream C 1 comprising trioxane, water and formaldehyde. Stream C 1 is fed to a third distillation column and distilled at a pressure in the range from 1 to 10 bar to obtain the recycle stream D 1 comprising trioxane, water and formaldehyde, and a stream D 2 consisting substantially of water.

    Abstract: Integrated method for the preparation of trioxane from formaldehyde, comp rising the steps: a) introduction of a feeding flow A1 containing formaldehy de and water and a return flow B3 consisting essentially of formaldehyde and trioxane into a formaldehyde concentration unit, wherein said flows are sep arated into a formaldehyde-rich flow A2 and a flow A3 consisting essentially of water; b) introduction of a product flow C1, containing trioxane, water, and formaldehyde, a return flow E1 containing trioxane, water, and formalde hyde, and possibly flow A2 into a first low-pressure distillation column, wh erein said flows are distilled at a pressure of from 0.1 to 1.5 atmospheres, with a trioxane-enriched flow B1 containing predominantly trioxane, and als o water and formaldehyde, a slough removal flow B2 consisting essentially of formaldehyde and water, and the return flow B3 containing predominantly wat er, and also formaldehyde and trioxane removed as a side removal flow; c) in troduction of a slough removal flow B2 and possibly the flow A2 into a triox ane synthesis reactor, wherein said flows are allowed to react, and wherein the flow C1 containing trioxane, water, and formaldehyde is obtained; d) int roduction of a flow B1 into a mid-pressure distillation column, wherein said flow is distilled at a pressure of from 1.0 to3.0 atmospheres, wherein a lo w boiler stream D1 containing methanol, methylal, and methylformate,and a st ream D2 containing predominantly trioxane and also formaldehyde and water ar e obtained; e) introduction of a stream D2 into a high-pressure distillation column, wherein said stream is distilled at a pressure of from 2.5 to 10.0 atmospheres, wherein the return flow E1 contains trioxane, water, and formal dehyde, and a product flow E2 consisting essentially of trioxane is obtained ; wherein flow A2 can be introduced into either the low-pressure distillatio n column or into the trioxane-35 synthesis reactor, or into both.
