    Abstract: Prodn. of N-alkenylcarbamic acid esters of formula HR C=CR -N(R )-C(O)-O-R (I) is new, in which at least one of the R gps. = H and the other = H or 1-4C alkyl; R = aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic gp., opt. combined with R to form a 2- to 10-membered bridging gp.; and R = aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic gp. The process comprises reacting an alkenyl ester of formula HR C=CR -O-C(O)-R (II) (in which R = H or an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic gp.) with a carbamate ester of formula HR N-C(O)-O-R (III) in presence of a base. Pref. in the formulae, R = H; R = 1-20C alkyl, or R + R = 2-7C alkylene.

    Abstract: The prodn. of N-alkenyl ureas of formula (I) comprises reacting ureas of formula (II) with alkenyl carboxylate esters of formula (III), in which R , R = H, 1-40C alkyl, 2-40C alkenyl, 3-20C cycloalkyl, 4-20C alkyl-cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl- alkyl, or aryl, 7-20C alkaryl or 7-20C aralkyl (the last 3 opt. substd. with 1 to 5 halogen, 1-8C alkyl or 1-8C alkoxy gps.); or R + R = 2-10C alkylene (opt. substd. with 1 to 6 1-8C alkyl gps.); R , R = H or 1-8C alkyl; R = H, 1-40C alkyl, 3-20C cycloalkyl, 4-20C alkyl-cycloalkyl, aryl, 7-20C alkaryl or aralkyl, or substd. aryl or 7-20C aralkyl (with 1 to 3 1-8C alkyl gps.) The reaction is carried out at 0-180 degrees C and 0.01-10 bar in presence of a base.
