Abstract: The invention relates to a water-soluble or water-dispersible copolymer containing units, which can be embedded by polymerization, a) of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising a saccharide side group and b) at least one hydrophilic monomer that is different from (meth)acrylamide and ethylenically unsaturated, wherein the percentage by weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising a saccharide side group is 5 to 95 wt %. The copolymers exhibit high affinity to inorganic surfaces or hydrophilic fibers such as cotton. Said copolymers are used in textile detergents as polymers that are able to dissolve dirt and/or prevent graying or minimize the risk of the microbial colonization of materials coated therewith.

Los poliésteres ramificados obtenidos se hacen reaccionar posteriormente con sulfito de hidrógeno, la cantidad molar de sulfito de hidrógeno siendo a lo mucho 95% molar con respecto a la cantidad de ácido dicarboxílico a, ß-olefínicamente insaturado.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing aqueous dispersions conta ining at least one lipophilic active substance by emulsion polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of at least one lipophilic active substance. The method according to the invent ion comprises the following steps: (i) emulsifying at least one lipophilic a ctive substance having a water solubility of not more than 5 g/l (establishe d at 25°C and 1013 mbar) and a melting point below 130°C, in an aqueous solu tion which contains at least one dispersion stabilizer, while producing an a queous solution of the active substance with an average particle size of not more than 1000 nm, and (ii) subjecting a monomer composition which contains at least 80% of a neutral, monoethylenically unsaturated monomer that can b e emulsified in water, in the aqueous dispersion of the active substance obt ained in step (1), to an emulsion polymerization. The invention also relates to the use of the dispersions obtained according to the invention as sizing agents for paper, paperboard and cardboard, for finishing and stabilizing t hermoplastic polymers, for material protection and crop protection.
