    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the coloration of a core material and heighten the transparency of the core material and make the material switably usable in decorative fields, etc., by using transparent solid polymer as the core material wherein the polymer is obtained by polymerization of monomer containing a specified amount of a polymerization inhibiting agent. CONSTITUTION:Regarding a light transmitting tube composed of a hollow tubular transparent clad material and a transparent core material having refractive index higher than that of the clad material, a transparent solid polymer obtained by polymerization of monomer containing 2ppm or less polymerization inhibiting agent is used as the core material. In that case, more preferably polymer obtained by polymerization of monomer containing 2ppm or less, desirably 0.5ppm or less, polymerization inhibiting agent is used for the core material by employing distillation refining method, absorption refining method by silica gel, activated carbon, molecular sieve, etc., ion exchange refining method, chromatographic refining method, purifying method by an alkaline solution, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic device which is capable of simplifying a manufacturing process and enhancing mounting accuracy as well. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic device having a column-shaped magnet roll and support means which supports the roll, notched support parts 13 are formed on both ends of the magnet roll 1 while receiving parts are installed to the support means in such a fashion that they may meet the support parts 13, thereby providing the electomagnetic device. This construction makes it possible to simplify the manufacturing process and reduce manufacturing cost. In addition, this construction provides other advantages which make it possible to enhance mounting accuracy and hence enhance yields.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To operate illumination of a large area with one piece of light source by projecting and emitting the light from a light source supplied via a light transmission hose with a planar or curved surface light emitting surface and further a large area region. CONSTITUTION:This surface light emitting device comprises the light source 1, the light transmission hose 2 and a light emitting member 3 and is used on the roof of a building 4, etc. The light source 1 emits light of a specific color (wavelength) and the light transmission hose 2 is formed by packing a viscous liquid-like core into a high-polymer clad worked to a flexible pipe shape. Both ends of the clad are closed by transparent windows. The light is totally reflected at the boundary of the core and the clad and the incident light is transmitted to the other end by using the clad having the refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core. The light emitting member 3 is mounted to the advertisement 5 and the light rays of the respective colors supplied from the light transmission hose 2 progress in the core. These light rays partly transmit the inside of the clad without totally reflecting on a part of the inside peripheral surface The right rays are thus efficiently emitted from the outer peripheral surface.

In the diffused light tube 3, the light sent from the light transmission tube 2 advances the core, and total reflection occurs on an inner peripheral surface, however, no total reflection of the light on another inner peripheral part occurs, and the light passes the inside of a clad, and it can be efficiently emitted from an outer peripheral surface to the outside. Also, the light is shielded by mounting an opaque casing on half periphral surface through which no light transmits out of the outer peripheral surfaces of the clad.

The light transmission hose 2 is formed in such a way that a core in viscous liquid shape is filled in a polymer clad worked in flexible pipe shape and both terminals of the clad are sealed with a transparent window. As the clad, the one with refractive index lower than that of the core is used. A light emitting means is to perform the illumination of the warehouse 4 by diffusing the light transmitted on the light transmission hose 2, and a light diffusing tube 3 is used as the means. The light sent out from the light transmission hose 2 advances the core of the light diffusing tube 3 and no total reflection of a part of the light occurs on an inner peripheral plane, and it transmits the clad, then, it is emitted from an outer peripheral plane to the outside with high efficiency.

CONSTITUTION:An optical wave guide 1 is constituted of a solid core 4 with high light permeability and made of a rubber elastic material with high refraction factor and a clad 5 made of a rubber elastic material with the refraction factor smaller than that of the core 4, and the core 4 is formed with a material selected among the synthetic rubber such as chloroprene rubber, urethane rubber, silicone rubber, fluororubber, acrylic rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, ethylene propylene copolymer and epichlorohydrin rubber. The light wave guide 1 can be thereby elastically deformed softly and largely in any direction, the open circuit and elastic deformation of the light wave guide 1 and the dissociation of light transmitting and light receiving means 2 and 3 from the light wave guide 1 can be prevented, thus the presence and size of the action of the external force can be detected with excellent sensitivity.
