Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymeric material capable of providing an electroconductive member excellent in various characteristics without fouling an image-forming unit or a transfer material, or the like, by carrying out the chain extension and curing of a specific prepolymer with a specified polyol. SOLUTION: This polymeric material is obtained by reacting (A) a polyether polyol consisting essentially of the one having preferably 3 functional groups with (B) a polyisocyanate compound consisting essentially of preferably a diphenylmethane diisocyanate (derivative) at 10-120 deg.C for about l-150 h and then carrying out the chain extension and curing of (C) the resultant prepolymer with (D) a polyol having 500-5,000 weight-average molecular weight and terminal hydroxyl groups of primary ones (e.g. polytetramethylene ether glycol). The components A and B are preferably used in a ratio so that the amount of the component B is preferably in excess of the stoichiometric one so as to provide preferably 2-20 wt.% content of the isocyanate groups in the component C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an enzyme electrode with a better characteristic at a low cost by building up a working pole with a metallic oxide conductor. CONSTITUTION:A metallic oxide conductor layer is formed on a nonconductive substrate made of polyethylene terephthalate or the like and further is modified with an electron transmission substance (mediator) and an enzyme to obtain a mediator type enzyme electrode. The metallic oxides herein used are preferably tin oxide, indium oxide, zinc oxide, indium tin oxide, tungsten oxide or titanium oxide and viewed from electrochemical stability, the indium tin oxide is the most preferable. The mediator therein used is preferably a conductive polymer substance such as polyaniline or reducing type redox compound such as phenothiazines and phenoxazines. Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize an instrument by using specific polyaniline to constitute a high-polymer qualified electrodes. CONSTITUTION:This element is constituted by electrically connecting plural pieces of the collecting electrodes 4 and 4 which consist of a conductor and are parted from each other by the polyaniline with which the sum of the part having a dope=semiquinone radical state and the part having a quinone-diimine state is 10-60mol% and the sum of the part having a benzonoid-amine state and the part having a benzonoid=ammonium salt state is 90-40mol%. The pH can be well measured by detecting the current value between the collecting electrodes 4 and 4 which changes in accordance with a change in the conductivity of the polyaniline 5 by a change in the ambient pH when a voltage is impressed between the electrodes 4 and 4 connected by the polyaniline 5. The need for a reference electrode is eliminated in this way and the instrument is miniaturized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having uniform film thickness and excellent film-forming property while preventing the influence of gas generating from a cathode, by horizontally disposing an anode and a cathode in parallel in an electrolyte placing the anode under the cathode and carrying out the electrolytic oxidation. CONSTITUTION:An anode 3 and a cathode 4 are horizontally disposed in an electrolyte 2 charged in a electrolytic chamber 1 and the anode 3 is positioned under the cathode 4. Electric current is passed through the electrolyte using the assembly to effect the electrolytic oxidation of a monomer such as aniline contained in the electrolyte 2. A polymeric film of an organic polymeric material is deposited on the surface of the anode 3 by this process. The form of the cathode is preferably the one to enable the passage of gas, e.g. a mesh, and preferably vibration is applied to the cathode to accelerate the release of the generated gas. The size of the cathode is preferably equal to or larger than the anode. The electrolysis is carried out preferably by separating the electrodes from each other at an electrolyte temperature of -5-+20 deg.C and an anodic current density of without agitation.
