Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode of vanadium pentoxide, a negative electrode of lithium-doped carbonaceous material, and an organic electrolyte liquid containing a lithium salt. The electric capacities of the positive and negative materials are selected such that the electric capacity of the carbonaceous material at a potential of 1 volt or lower vs. lithium counter electrode is 0.8 to 1.8 times the electric capacity of vanadium pentoxide at a potential of 2.5 volts or higher vs. lithium counter electrode. Graphitized mesophase microspheres resulting from carbonization of pitch is preferred carbonaceous material. The battery is improved in both charge/discharge cycle and overdischarge properties.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the uniformity of the resistance of an electrifying member compatible with the uniformity of a physical contact state with a member to be electrified, to make residual toner hardly adhere, and to improve performance in electrification and durability by forming an outer layer containing hydrogen fluororesin to which carbon having oxygen content equal to or over a specified value is added on the surface of an inner layer made of an elastic body. SOLUTION: In this electrifying member abutting on the body to be electrified and electrifying the body to be electrified when voltage is impressed between the body to be electrified and the electrifying member; an outer layer containing hydrogen fluororesin to which carbon having >=6% oxygen content is added is formed on the surface of an inner layer consisting of the elastic body. Namely, the electrifying member where a layer obtained by adding carbon, whose oxygen content is >=6%, desirably, whose pH is >=5, to the hydrogen fluororesin is used as the outer layer or a part of the outer layer, and an elastic layer, if possible, the elastic layer made of a foaming body is used as the inner layer is used. Thus, the uniformity of electrifying action is improved and a sandy texture and image defect are eliminated and further the durability is improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrifying member being excellent in the uniformity of resistance, the uniformization of a contact stage, electrifiability and durability by forming an outer layer including resin to which specific carbon is added, on the surface of an inner layer consisting of an elastic body. SOLUTION: As the inner layer, an elastic body is used and urethane foam is preferable. Carbon and metallic oxide are added to impart conductivity to the foam. The outer layer is made of the resin to which the carbon is added. As the carbon, one having an oxygen content of >=6%, preferably >=7% and further, a carbon pH of >=5, preferably >=6 is desirable. Thus, the uniformity of the resistance of the electrifying member can be made compatible with a sufficient contact state with an electrified member by the fact that the hardness of the electrifying member is made low and moreover, the uniform contact state with the electrified member by the fact that the surface smoothness of the electrifying member is secured. Therefore, the uniformity of electrifying work is improved, sandy soil, a defect in an image, etc., are eliminated and further, the durability is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a surface modified magnetic powder body which is formed by modifying a surface of a magnetic powder body by a polyamide, and a surface modified magnetic powder body which is formed by modifying a surface of a magnetic powder body by a coupling agent and by modifying a surface thereof by polyamide. CONSTITUTION:A modified magnetic powder body forms polyamide on a surface which does not dissolve in solvent which dissolves polyamide. Therefore, when polyamide is used for binder in manufacturing of a resin magnet, ideally high affinity is developed between the both. Therefore, in a synthetic resin magnet wherein polyamide is used for binder, high charging rate, that is, high magnetic force becomes possible. Furthermore, a magnetic powder-polyamide integral molding can be readily acquired, which is effective as a material especially for acquiring a synthetic resin magnet.
