    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound, having low irritancy to the skin or hair, good in tough thereon, excellent in foaming power and emulsification stability and useful for various detergents, emulsifying agents, conditioning agents, etc. CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I [R and R are each a 4-24C alkyl or alkenyl; R is a 1-24C alkyl or alkenyl; X is a halogen; (n) is 1-8] or its salt, e.g. 17-dodecyl-15,19-dihydroxy-13,13,17,21,21-pentamethyl-13,17,21- triazoniatriacontane chloride. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an amine derivative of formula II with a halogenated hydrocarbon of the formula R -X in the presence of an alkaline agent (e.g. sodium carbonate) in an inert solvent (e.g. isopropyl alcohol and water) at 20-150 deg.C.
