    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for producing a polyurethane of a low odor, and to provide a process for producing a polyurethane excellent in vinyl stain resistance, fogging resistance and heat resistance by using the catalyst for producing the polyurethane. SOLUTION: There are provided a catalyst for producing a polyurethane comprising a dialkylaminoalkyl alcohol represented by formula (I): R1R2N-(CH2)n- OH (I) (wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a 1-4C alkyl group; and (n) is an integer of 9-12), and a process for producing a polyurethane comprising reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of the catalyst for producing a polyurethane.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the subject thermal insulation material, favorable in foam fluidity during molding process, excellent in demoldability after the molding process, and capable of giving the polyurethane foam with high compressive strength and thermal conductivity retention. SOLUTION: This method for producing the objective polyurethane foam as thermal insulation material comprises reaction between a polyol component and an isocyanate component in the presence of (A) a catalyst comprising a quaternary ammonium salt and at least one compound selected from N,N,N',N'- tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine, N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine and N-(2- dimethylaminoethyl)-N'-methylpiperazine, (B) a foaming agent composed of water and cyclopentane and (C) a foam stabilizer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane foam having yellowing resistance and showing unimpaired resin strength in mold release and excellent moldability even when the amount of the water-containing blowing agent is increased by reacting an isocyanato-reactive compound with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a specified catalyst. SOLUTION: In reacting a compound having two or more isocyanato-reactive hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of 400-10,000 with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent, 0.1-3.0 pts. wt. compound (e.g. a compound of formula II or III) represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-4 C alkyl) is used per 100 pts.wt. isocyanato-reactive compound to produce a polyurethane foam having density of 0.20-0.40g/cm and a tensile strength of 20kg/cm or above. The use of the above catalyst makes it possible to obtain a polyurethane foam having unimpaired strength by virtue of its excellent gelation reactivity in mold release and excellent moldability, having yellowing resistance, and being suited for especially soles even when the amount of the water as the blowing agent is increased to lower the density of the foam.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the coating material for green sand molds for improving the surface stability of the green sand molds. CONSTITUTION:The coating material for green sand molds consists of polyhydroxy alcohol. Glycerol is most preferably used as the polyhydroxy Malcohol. The coated amt. at the time of coating the green sand mold surface with the polyhydroxy alcohol is 10 to 60g per 1m green sand mold surface. The polyhydroxy alcohol has good affinity to water and, therefore, well holds the water of the green sand mold surface, thereby preventing the evaporation of the moisture on the green sand mold surface. A casting having less defects on the surface is, therefore, obtd. if the casting is produced by using the green sand mold coated with the polyhydroxy alcohol. Since the polyhydroxy alcohol sticking to the green molding sand is easily evaporated and decomposed by the heat of molten metal, the once used green molding sand is reusable many times.

CONSTITUTION:This process for production of the sand core consists in producing the sand core by mixing (A) acrylate, (B) hydroperoxide and/or perioxide (C) polymn. accelerator with refractory granular aggregate, then producing the sand core in the presence of an inert gas in the method for producing the sand core applied to an undercut part in die casting for casting a light alloy under several 10 to several 100kg/cm pressure. This anaerobic curing type adhesive contains the above-mentioned (A), (B), (C).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To greatly improve the deterioration by moisture absorption of the casting mold by specifying a method of adding a silane coupling agent, etc., and curing an acid curing resin with which the silane coupling agent is previously compounded by heating at the time of producing the casting mold by using the acid curing resin. CONSTITUTION:Refractory granular aggregate is used at 100 parts by weight, the acid curing resin at 0.5-5 parts, the silane coupling agent having an amino group or ureide group in the molecule at 0.0001-1 parts and a hardener consisting of a strong acid and weak base at 0.05-1 parts. The system sand prepd. by previously adding the other raw materials respectively separately to the aggregate and kneading the mixture or previously adding the resin and the coupling agent to the aggregate just before kneading, then kneading the mixture is packed into a metallic mold held at >=100 deg.C and is cured by heating. The order of kneading the resin and the coupling agent with the aggregate may be either the resin or the coupling agent first or the resin and the coupling agent may be mixed with the aggregate just before kneading.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve initial strength of a mold by containing the specific resin in the setting agent composing of salt of strong acid and weak basic and polar solvent. CONSTITUTION:A composition setting mixing material of refractory granular aggregate and acid setting resin is constituted by the salt of the strong acid and the weak basic, the polar solvent and soluble natural or synthetic resin in the polar solvent. It is desirable that resin having about 300-50000 of weight average molecular weight and polyvinyl alcohol, etc., is contained at about 3-50wt.% as the natural and synthetic resin. Water, methanol, etc., are used to about 5-60% ratio as the polar solvent. It is desirable that hydrochloric acid, organic sulfonic acid, etc., and material of Cu, Fe, Al, Zn as main component (for example, ferric chloride) are used at 10-60% as the salt of the strong acid and weak basic.
