    Abstract: PURPOSE:A thermoplastic polyester is melt spun into a yarn and the yarn is treated with a finishing oil with an oil applicator set in a specific position and wound up at a super high speed, thus producing the titled fiber of high uniformity and good fiber properties stably through a practical production process without drawing. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate is extruded through a spinneret 1 and the resultant yarn Y is solidified by cooling with the cooling device 2, treated with a finishing oil by means of the oil applicator 3 and wound up with the winder 6 wherein the position of the applicator L is set so that L is longer than the point where the extruded yarn is solidified by cooling and cooled down to room temperature but shorter than 4.26X10 XD /V in meter where D is the diameter of filament in centrimeter; V is winding-up speed in cm/sec. Then, the yarn is sent through the first and second godet rollers 4, 5, interlacer 7, traverse guide 8 and wound up around the winder 6 at a speed of 5,000m/min.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled filamentary yarns having thick and thin parts in the long direction thereof, by drawin ghighly oriented undrawn polyester multifilamentary yarns at a low draw ratio, turning filament after drawing large- diameter rollers, and heat-treating the filamentary yarns under no tension. CONSTITUTION:Highly oriented polyester multifilamentary yarns 1 having a double refraction of 20X10 -70X10 are drawn at a low draw ratio between feed rollers 2 and large-diameter rollers of stepped rollers 6 with hot pins 3 to give yarns having thick and thin parts. The resultant yarns are then passed through the large-diameter rollers of the stepped rollers 6, return guides 4 and 4' heat-treating apparatuses 5 and small-diameter rollers of the stepped rollers 6 one after another, heat-treated under no tension and then wound onto winders 7 to give the aimed filamentary yarns.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:When a thermoplastic polyester is melt spun, no heat is added from the extrusion to winding-up and the yarn is wound up at a high speed to give fiber giving good touch to the woven or knitted fabrics therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester, preferably containing more than 90 mol% of polyethylene terephthalate units, is melt spun, solidified and wound up wherein the whole processes from the extrusion to winding up are conducted with no heat application and the yarn is wound up at a speed of higher than 5,000, preferably 5,500m/min under tension of less than 20%, preferably 4-20%, after solidification.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a filament yarn suitable for knitted and woven fabrics having improved hand and a slight decrease in yarn strength after alkali treatment, by drawing an undrawn polyester filament yarn having a specific birefringence under specified conditions to provide thick and thin parts. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn polyester filament yarn comprising 70% or more of polyethylene terephthalate having a birefringence of 0.025-0.08, preferably 0.03- 0.07, is drawn at a draw ratio below the natural one (N), preferably not less than [1+0.05(N-1)] but not higher than [1+0.95(N-1)], and at a temperature below the second-order transition point, preferably by the draw pin method, and then treated with an alkali.
