Abstract: PURPOSE:A semipermeable membrane having proper degrees of water permeability and dialysis characteristic which is obtained by mixing a methyl methacrylate copolymer contg. the specific monomer and a methyl methacrylate copolymer contg. the specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A novel semipermeable membrane is obtained as a semipermeable membrane for the artificial kidney from the mixture of a methyl methacrylate polymer contg. a polymerizable monomer having sulfonic acid groups and a methyl methacrylate copolymer contg. amino or alkylamino methacrylates. The polymerizable monomer having sulfonic acid is, for example, p-styrene sulfonic acid or the like. The amino or alkylamino methacrylates are, for example, dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate or the like. Mixing weight ratios are about 1:9-9:1. A solvent is, for example, dimethyl sulfone foxide or the like and is kept at about 50-110 deg.C. The freezing bath is, for example, aliphatic lower alcohols. Thereby, the semipermeable membrane of superior water permeability and dialysis characteristic is obtained.
