Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for capacitor dielectric by which the variation in the insulation resistance of capacitor can be reduced and the produc tion yield thereof be improved, by eliminating deterioration of insulation resis tance due to film, and a highly safety capacitor can be formed. SOLUTION: A film is made mainly of polyethylene terephthalate and is oriented biaxially. Its thermal deformation S90 at 90 deg.C in the lengthwise direction is represented by a formula, S90 =(L90 -L40 )/L40 ×100(%) (L90 : length of a film sample at 90 deg.C; L40 : length of film sample at 40 deg.C). In the this case, the thermal deformation S90 is 0 to 0.5.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester film which has a low oligomer content, is excellent in heat resistance, impact strength, moldability, and incorporation stability, has a good visibility, and can decrease the leak current which may occur when the film is used in a high-permittivity refrigerant system by specifying the tensile modulus and permittivity of the same. SOLUTION: This film has a tensile modulus of 2.0-4.5 GPa, pref. 2.5-4.5 GPa, still pref. 3.0-4.5 GPa, and a permittivity of 2.2-3.0, pref. 2.4-3.0, still pref. 2.5-3.0, pref. comprises polyester resins each having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.6-1.5 dl/g, has a multilayer structure at least comprising a base layer and a surface layer formed thereon, and is prepd. pref. by melting two polyester resins, one for the base layer and the other for the surface layer, causing both resins to join before extruding them, extruding them through a die, and cooling and biaxially orienting the resultant extrudate.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance long-term dielectric breakdown characteristics at high temp. and to suppress the deterioration in yield at a time of the production of a condenser by specifying the isotacticity and isotactic pendant ratio and surface orientation coefficient of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film. SOLUTION: The isotacticity of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film is 98.5-99.5% and the isotactic pendant ratio mmmm displaying the stereoregularity of the film evaluated on the basis of a pendant ratio by the absorption peak of a methyl group measured by C-NMR exceeds 99%. Further, the surface orientation coefficient of the biaxially oriented polypropylene film is 0.012-0.015. If the surface orientation coefficient is below 0.012, slitting properties are bad and, when said coefficient exceeds 0.015, slitting properties are good but, since the orientation of the film at a time of production is too high, the rupture of the film is frequently generated and productivity is lowered.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film excellent in productivity and resistance to hydrothermal life without deteriorating voltage resistance or self-heal properties by providing a co-polyester layer having an alkylene group having a specific number or more of carbon atoms in a film. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film for a condenser is constituted by providing a co-polyester layer having a 4 or more C alkylene group in a film. At this time, base polyester is a crystalline thermoplastic resin, for example, polymerized by an ester bond. The co-polyester is constituted of a dicarboxylic acid component and a glycol component. The number of carbon atoms of the alkylene group is set to 8 or more, pref., 20 or more. By this constitution, the polyester film for the condenser excellent in productivity and resistance to hydrothermal life is obtained without deteriorating voltage resistance, other electric characteristics and self-heal properties.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject film excellent in resistance to moist head while retaining its pressure resistance and electrical properties, by providing the surface of a polyester film with a thin film of specified thickness consisting of a water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester polyurethane resin with the carboxylic acid concentration on its surface at a specified value or higher. CONSTITUTION:This film can be obtained by providing one or both of the surfaces of a polyester film with a 0.01-1mum thin film consisting of a polyester polyurethane resin. This thin film has the following characteristics; elongation at break, =300kg/cm ; and carboxylic acid concentration on the film surface, >=0.008.
