    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the interconnection of a micro electronic machine mechanical system MEMS. SOLUTION: A conventional MEMS device array has a number of mechanical devices respectively driven by a multi chip module MCM. By mounting the multi chip modules MCM on both faces of a system interconnection board, the interconnection of high density can be achieved. The multi chip modules MCM on a common circuit for driving a predetermined mechanical element are mounted on both faces of the system interconnection board, and interconnected to each other by vias penetrating through the board, whereby the total length of interconnection is reduced. By mounting all functional elements onto a socket by using a contact pin array for electric connection, the quick replacement/repairing can be easily executed. The in-service reliability can be obtained by providing a spare socket for the redundant MCM.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification device and method that can be used by a telephone line engineer to identify incorporated services by checking a telephone line at a site. SOLUTION: A tuning circuit with a specific resonance frequency replies a test signal with a specific resonance frequency injected to the line by means of a stimulation signal, and a modulator modulates the simulation signal when the text signal exists. By injecting a questionnaire test signal including a specific frequency to a telephone line, the simulation signal from the tuning circuit is detected in response to the specific frequency. A telephone line to which a test signal including a specific frequency component is injected is monitored, and when test signal is detected on the telephone line, the characteristics of the test signal with the specific frequency is enhanced.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically save the electric power of a base station by monitoring the potential interference traffic of an adjacent base station and scheduling high-data-speed transmission according to it. SOLUTION: A method for saving the electric power source in a cellular telecommunication system and accordingly increasing the total throughput of the base station is disclosed. Signal intensity received from the adjacent base station is compared to the reference signal intensity. Electrical power is saved by performing scheduling at the time when the intensity of the signal received from a high-data-speed portable machine is lower than the reference signal intensity.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber transmission system which uses polarization multiplexing of a pump signal for reducing the influence of a stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) as for an optical fiber transmission system whose SBS is low. SOLUTION: A technique for suppressing the stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) in an optical fiber signal path divides power of emitted (signal) into (signals in) a polarization state by using polarization modulation at the place of a transmitter. By reducing the power of each polarization, the SBS is reduced. The line width of a light source is expanded by (1) introducing incoherence property between the polarization state (by introducing time delay into one of the signal paths in a polarization state) and (2) introducing a frequency shift between the polarizing state (by providing an acoustic optical modulator(AOM) within the signal path of the remaining polarization state).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single base station, that supports non-diversity transmission of a 1st-type digital signal and diversity transmission of a 2nd-type digital signal. SOLUTION: The base station 8 includes a primary channel board 12, that modulates and codes a digital signal of the 1st type and a secondary channel board 14, that modulates and codes a digital signal of the 2nd type. A 1st group transmission wireless module 18 receives the digital signal of the 1st type and the digital signal of the 2nd type, and provides a synthesized electromagnetic output signal. Each transmission wireless module is related to each different sector. The transmission wireless module 18 of the 2nd group receives the digital signal of the 2nd type from the secondary channel board 14 and provides a different electromagnetic output signal, to supplement the composited electromagnetic output signal.
