Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a portable communication transceiver and to prolong the operation life of the tranceiver battery. SOLUTION: Directional antennas 102 and 102' connected to the portable communication transceiver are directed adaptively to a remote station in a communication system. The high frequency output quantity required by the portable device for nondirectional antennas is greatly reduced. Consequently, the time for which the transceiver 210 operates until battery recharging is greatly increased.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for allowing a signal detector such as a computer system to generate an electrostatic signal by means of a tablet and a touch pen which can be manually operated linking with this tablet. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an electrostatic input pen 13, and a top end 14 of the pen 13 linked with a table 20 is made conductive and flexible, and according as the top end 14 of the pen 13 held by a hand is pressurized on an uppermost insulating layer 12 of the table 20, a contact area with the table device 20 can be enlarged. Also, signal source 14 and a signal detector 50 are connected in series between the top end 14 of the pen 13 and a lower conductive layer 11 of the tablet 20. Therefore, the enlargement of the area in contact with the top end 14 of the pen 13 increases capacitance between the top end 14 and the lower conductive layer 11 of the tablet 20, so that the S/N of a detection signal can be improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power consumption amount of a CMOS circuit by providing a circuit that is provided with plural FETs and a means which prevents current from simultaneously flowing through the FETs. SOLUTION: A pair of MP2 AND MN2 devices 16 and 18 is serially connected to MP1 AND MN1 devices 12 and 14. When an input signal VIN gradually starts to rise during transition from low to high, and a buffer 22 converts it into a fast rise pulse that appears on an output side and operates as a circuit which forms a waveform through this. The fast pulse cuts the MP2 before the MP1/MN1 inverters reach a trip point and flow of passing current is interrupted. The same matter occurs when an input signal transits from high to low. The buffer 22 cuts the MN2 before the MP1/MN1 inverters reach the trip point, also in this case, the negative transition of an input signal reduces the flow of passing current.

When the strength of the booster inverter increases, the frequency range of VCO shifts to the higher frequency. When the strength of a booster decreases, the frequency range of VCO shits to the lower frequency. For realizing the wider operation frequency range, plural voltage control current sources 50, 52, 54 and 56 are mounted and current to the booster inverter is restricted.
