Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent accidents such as breakage of an electrical connecting part due to erroneous operations from occurring, by a construction wherein a means for releasing a connector for electrical connection is operated in con junction with a head cover. CONSTITUTION:A bubble jet assembly (BJA) 33 is detachably fitted into an upper frame 20 by gripping left and right hendles 34a of a frame 34. In fitting, connection to a terminal on the side of a power source on the upper frame 20 side is performed through the connector 40 provided at the rear end of the frame 34. A lever 41 for locking and unlocking the connector 40 is disposed at a horizontal poistion when the connector is in an OFF state, and the cover 41 can be fitted only in this condition. With this function, the cover 42 serves as a safety device, and since the cover is always fitted when fitting or detaching the BJA 33, breakage of each part due to careless handling can be prevented from occurring.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure favorable convenience in use, easy maintenance and inspection and assured replacement of a dran tank at appropriate time, by a construction wherein desired parts are unitized for detachable fitting, and a drain tank is provided on the outside of the recorder so that it is easy to see. CONSTITUTION:A lower unit 21 provided on the lower side of an upper unit 20 contains a power source part. A detachable drain tank 22 is fitted to the outside of the lower unit 21 so as to be seen from the exterior. On the side of the lower unit 21, a lock arm 91 is provided on the upper side of the drain tank 22 so that an end thereof can be turned on a pin 92, and the arm 91 can fix the tank 22 through a bent part 91a thereof by fastening a thumbscrew 93. With the drain tank part thus constructed, the amount of a waste ink accumulated in the tank can be externally checked at a glance.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the leak of liquid when a cartridge is mounted and demounted by arranging in series a valve which is opened only in the case when liquid is inhaled and a valve which is opened and closed only in case of the sealed state between a cartridge full of liquid and the cartridge to be mounted and demounted. CONSTITUTION:When the second ink tank 12 in cartridge type is installed into a guide frame 15, a small-diameter part 16a intrudes into a valve device 22 from the opened port of a cap 27, and the small-diameter part 16a is sealed by a sealing member 28. Then, a ball 24 pushes a valve 17 a little projecting from the small-diameter part 16a. Then, the valve 17 is opened through the compression of a spring 19, and the flow passage to the ink tank communicates. The ball 24 contacts with the small-diameter part 16a and is pushed, and the valve 22 is opened. When the ink tank 12 is to be replaced, the valve 17 is closed by the retreat of the ink tank, and the leak of ink is prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve the cost down by molding all the containers with one kind of metal mold and at the same time, to prevent the occurrence of mistakes such as an error in the selection container or the like, by a method wherein although molded into thoroughly the same shape, the container is so constructed as to provide multiple parts capable of being cut off to part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 is molded under a state in which notch parts 7-10 and opening parts 11-14 are formed on part of peripheral wall 3 and with the same kind of metal mold. All the parts 15-18 capable of being cut off remain when they are in a molded state. A pair of cutters 19, 19 are provided according to the color of ink among the parts 15-18 capable of being cut off on the ink filler side, and only by installing the container 1, a specific part capable of being cut off is cut off. A projection 20 is protoruded on the apparatus side corresponding to the cut off part of the container for which filling has been completed. Therefore, unless a specific projection 20 corresponds to a specific notch part being cut off, the container 1 can not throughly 50 mounted because one of the remainding parts 15-18 prevents the mounting.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of power to be consumed as well as simplify a sequence control system by providing a check valve between a head element and a pump and a normally-open electromagnetic valve. CONSTITUTION:A normally-open electromagnetic valves A to C are used, and a check valve 64 is provided in a flow path 8 connecting a head element with the pump. The valve 64 has a structure allowing the passage of ink to the element 1 side. In a pressurizing mode, only the valve A is closed and the other valves B and C are opened. In the other modes, all the electromagnetic valves stay open. The number of operations of the electromagnetic valves can thus be greatly reduced, and sequence control, either in terms of hard ware or soft ware can be greatly simplified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To securely detect great amounts of overflow caused by accident, etc., in the early stage by providing a liquid level sensor in the internal upper space of a container filled with an ink absorbent. CONSTITUTION:An ink adsorbent 2 is packed up to a given level in a container 1, and a drop cover 3 is put on the upside of the absorbent 2. A pair of electrodes 6 and 7 are inserted into the upside of the container 1, and an air hole 8 with a breather film 9 is formed in the upside of the container 1. In cases where great amounts of liquid is supplied from a tube 5 by accident, etc., the liquid level rises faster than liquid staying on the cover 3 is absorbed by the absorbent 2 through the aperture between the container and the cover, resulting in the shortcircuiting of the electrodes 6 and 7 in a short time. In the early stage of large-scale overflow, the occurrence of accident can thus be detected and emergency measure, e.g., stoppage of the device, etc., can be taken.

CONSTITUTION:A heater 7 ad a temperature detection means 8 are provided at a required point on the board 5 of a printing head unit 3 i.e. at a position near each printing head element or a point which indicates a temperature corresponding to the temperature of the point for said element. This printing head unit is so designed as to be cooled by a common blower 9 provided inside the recorder. A detection signal from a detection signal is input to a control(microcomputer) of the recorder. Said control regulates the drive of the heater 7 ad the blower 9 according to the temperature signal. Thus the temperature of the printing head is kept within a range of proper ink droplet formation.

The average pore cross area S2 of a ink introducing region 6-21 and the average pore cross area of an energy acting region 6-22 are formed into shapes so as to satisfy formula S2/S1>1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare an ink jet head which is excellent in dimensional accuracy of orifice and improved in such a capacity that discharged ink droplets are caused to go straight and in uniformity of size of droplet by forming an orifice plate with hardened films of photosensitive resin and making the surface of the plate coarse. CONSTITUTION:Ink discharge pressure generating elements 2 are arranged on a substrate 1 of glass, etc. and a head main body 4 is prepared by binding this substrate 1 with another plate 3 on which grooves for ink passage are formed. To the side of this main body 4, a heated dry film photoresist 6 is thermally adhered to, and then a photomask 7 having mask patterns 7a, 7b corresponding to orifices and a netlike pattern 7c around thereof is laid over the photoresist 6 and light is illuminated from above the mask. Unhardened resist not exposed to light is dissolved and removed by a solvent, and a hardened photoresist film 6H on which pierced holes 8-1, 8-2 and fine uneven surface (coarse surface) 9 are formed is developed. EFFECT:Since no adhesive is used, ink passage is not clogged with surplus adhesive.
