    Abstract: A polarizing optical element comprises a transparent optical base element and a layered structure that incorporates a polarizing film. The polarizing film is of the dichroic dye type and is oriented uniaxially. The layered structure is bonded to the optical base element by means of a layered structure that includes at least one layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Thanks to the use of pressure-sensitive adhesive, the polarizing film during the bonding operation maintains a high polarization efficiency and an optical quality compatible with many applications of the optical element, especially ophthalmic applications.

    Abstract: The device further comprises: electric, pneumatic/mechanical translators (12) connecting the plug to a pipe support (13); a base plate for fixing the piston by its lower end, and a mechanics for horizontal adjustment of the piston on the plate; a thermal polymerization unit or ultraviolet radiation; and a removable heating unit to control the temperature and the distance applied between film and the unit by an automat, convection and/or radiation of the film. The mechanical device blocks the plate with the piston. The set motion of the plug, chamber and translators are managed by an automat to make the contact between the plug, film plane and the lens. The film holder maintains the film plane and having a holding fixture to place and lock on the piston. The depression is continuous and controlled by pressure transducer/gauge connected to the automat. The base plate connected to encoders to control the piston with respect to the plug. The translators are under control of a sensor force and/or position encoders (14). The film plane comprises a structural functionality, optics, physics and physico-chemical. The plug has a hardness of 38-64. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method of functionalization by molding, transferring and joining the film plane on an optical lens; and (2) a functionalized optical lens.

    Abstract: The inventive method for recording data on an optical lens (2) consists in recording a data-containing source image, in generating the hologram (3) of the image source and in recording said hologram on the lens surface portion ranging from 0.5 mm2 to 15 mm2. The data can be read-out by illuminating said lens by means of a light beam (101) in the hologram area. A read-out image (105, 106) which reproduces the source image and on which data is readable is formed at a distance from the lens. Said lens can be embodied, in particular in the form of an ophthalmic lens.
